World War Two / Victory Parade North Africa Campaign
« on: Friday 23 April 21 18:47 BST (UK)  »
Hi
can anyone think of a parade with Montgomerie in 1943 taking the salute in N Africa sometime after El Alemain and before invasion of Sicily. The parade was reported on Cinema news reels in the UK.

My Mother in law says she saw her husband on his tank (3CLY tank regiment) but cant remember the date or the News report - Pathe etc.

Thank you
Tom

Renfrewshire / greenock Old west Kirk Burial Ground
« on: Sunday 07 March 21 14:50 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, I'm trying to find some information on the removal of the Old West Kirk Burial ground in Greenock in the early 1920s. I understand that the remains were re-interred in the Greenock cemetery along with most of the memorials. Can anyone point me to online details of this/ photos of the old burial ground and/or location of burial records.

Many thanks

Armed Forces / Army births in Ireland
« on: Sunday 14 February 21 16:42 GMT (UK)  »
My gggrandfather was in the 92nd rgt(Gordon Highlanders) and posted to Fermoy barracks in Cork around 1847 and I believe his wife and son accompanied him there. A census states that his daughter was born in 1851 in Ireland.   Where can I find details of the 92nd stay in Fermoy and how does one find birth details for children of soldiers in Ireland?

« on: Saturday 07 October 17 12:02 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone tell me where the 108 British General Hospital was located in 1945.  I know it was somewhere around the Brussels area. My father in law was admitted to it and I would also like to know when, and for what reason.  Are there medical records or admission registers?
