Hi I am looking for help with the above and her parents,

Hannah Elliott  bn 1816  Ecclesfield (per Census 1841 to 1891)  death 1897 Barnsley
married Michael Copley in Barnsley in 1834
Their Children were
Charles Copley christened Ecclesfield 4/1/1835  before GRO
Moses Copley Christened Ecclesfield 30/4/1837  before GRO
Samuel Copley   GRO 22 451 1839  Rotherham       MMN  Gothard
David Copley      cannot find a record for him
Alfred Copley  GRO 22 476 1845 Rotherham           MMN  Elliott
Edward Copley GRO 22 456 1847 Rotherham          MMN  Elliott
Michael Copley GRO 22 553 1850 Rotherham          MMN Elliott
John Copley  GRO 9c 373 1853 Rotherham            MMN  Gothard (Born after fathers death)

Hannah then married George Saxton 1855 in Sheffield  They had 2 Children George MMN Elliott
and Clara I cannot find on GRO
I decided to get this certificate Hannah's fathers name is Samuel Gothard I believe he married a Sophia Elliott 5/7/1818 at Rotherham

I'm guessing that Hannah was illegitimate as she seems to have been born before parents marriage.
but I can't find any birth for Hannah mother Sophia
And I can't find any birth record for Sophia Elliott, on the census 1841 to 1861 she was born at Chapeltown Yorkshire

Any help would be much appreciated

Hi I am Looking for the parents of the above, and any help about their deaths,
although I have just ordered a death certificate for Eliza Davison, who I think may have died in 1859 at Lincoln age 54.  So really it is her parents, and any information about James.

They had 5 children
John 1829
Elizabeth 1834 born at Bradford, christening entry says father James at Tailor
William Vallentine 1836 - 1904
James 1839 cannot find his birth on GRO
George Mimmack 1841 St Mary Le Wigford (Per FS) - 1900 ( sheffield) cannot find his birth on GRO.

On 1841 Census Eliza is living at St Mary Le Wigford with the 5 Children ( No James I've no idea where he might be, perhaps dead?)

On 1851 census Eliza is Head living on Steep Hill Lincoln with 4 children.

I think that James and Eliza married at Sculcoates 18 June 1829.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards
Christine

Hi
Here is the information I have already found.

Occupation a Coal Miner

In 1841 he was age 35 Living at Common side Handsworth Yorkshire

In 1851 he was age 46 living at Park Hill Lane Sheffield

In 1861 he was age 57 living at 48 Weigh Lane Sheffield

In 1871 he was age 67 living at 126 Park Hill Lane

John died 22 Feb 1879 certificate says age 71 but as he was 67 in 1871 I believe the age may be incorrect.

I have found a John Brown's baptism at Handsworth son of John and Grace Brown of Woodhouse birth 2 April 1804, baptised 7 April 1804.

How would I know if this is the correct John Brown?

Also he married a Hannah Martin, I have found a marriage at Handsworth between a John Brown and Ann Martin 29 March 1826 could this be the correct marriage?

John and Hannah's first child was born 1 March 1827 and called Grace.

Any help would be much appreciated

Leicestershire / Looking for help with James Hall Birth 1844 at Coleorton
« on: Friday 12 April 19 11:26 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I have got quite a bit of information about James but am wondering why his father is called William Edwards

James Birth 1844 Coleorton possibly his mothers maiden name is Room

Marriage was on 18th October 1863 to Esther Broadhurst at Ashby de la Zouch, his father is shown as William Edwards, on the certificate.

In 1861  I have a census for James  a Lodger age 18 Living at Church Gresley

In1871 He is age 27 now married to Esther and has a son John J Hall, living at Church Gresley.  They also had a child Mary Ann Hall who was 7 at this census living with Grandparents, John and Mary Broadhurst.

In 1881 James is a widow age 37 Still living at Church Gresley,

In 1901 I believe James has now moved to Woodhouse Handsworth Sheffield to live with his son John J Hall's family, although his age doesn't seem to fit, and his place of birth is different.

I cannot find any census for James Hall in 1851 or 1891

Regards
Christine
