Yorkshire (North Riding) / House Info
« on: Sunday 13 August 23 10:29 BST (UK)  »
Hi All, I'm trying to trace the house details of my wife's grandparents who lived in 16 Willow Grove in Old Earswick(Earswick, Off Strensall Road) in York. Speaking with the planning office in York they say that the plans would have been held by the North Riding of Yorkshire planning authority and only the details they hold only go back to 1974. Can anyone offer advice or suggestion on how to obtain detail of the property.

Thanks

Rob

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Help with birthplace
« on: Saturday 03 December 22 09:06 GMT (UK)  »
Hi This is an extract from the 1921 Scottish census for what I believe is my grandmother Ellen Wilson. I need some help with the birthplace. I Know she was born in Ireland, but I always thought it was Belfast and have records of the family in Belfast including her parents marriage but looking at this it seems to be indicating Dublin Ireland. Am I reading this correct, or do I have that wrong. I have nothing in my records indicating they came from Dublin. The D in line 23 is nothing like line 19.

Angus (Forfarshire) / looking for an illusive relative
« on: Tuesday 06 July 21 20:02 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,

I need some help please. I am trying to find an illusive relative. Hugh Kelly (no birth date) going with Scottish naming formats he would be the first male to Hugh Kelly 1820 Ireland and Margaret Flood 1825 Ireland. They married 1 Sep 1862 in Dundee. Hugh was alive in 1898 as he was the informant to his fathers death and recorded as living at Kinghorn in Fiffe. I have searched high and low and just cannot find this person.

Other siblings are Eugene 1863 Dundee, Catherine and Helen (twins) 1865 Dundee, Sarah 1866 Dundee and Jane 1870 Dundee.

Any help anyone can shed on this would be greatly appreciated.
