Shropshire Lookup Requests / Baptism - BEACH/BEECH - Market Drayton pls
« on: Monday 04 December 06 17:13 GMT (UK)  »
I'm looking for the parents of William Edward Beach born 18 oct 1904 Market Drayton.  Does anyone have access to the registers to lookup his parents names - I'm told they are Joseph and Frances but can find nothing in the 1901 census that looks a possibility.

Many thanks in advance

Completed Census Requests / Strange 1881 census entry
« on: Wednesday 22 November 06 16:56 GMT (UK)  »
I am researching Sarah Maddox and have found her in 1881 4 years after her marriage to Alfred maddox but the entry is strange.

the three entries are:-

Christopher Potts - Lodger - unmarried age 26
Sarah Potts Alias Maddox - as wife - married - age 29
Elizabeth Ann Maddox - Daughter -- age 2

in 1891 I have Sarah Maddox, her husband Alfred and by then two children Elizabeth and Fanny at home.

I'm confused by the 1881 entry for Sarah and would welcome and advice on what this might mean does anyone have any idea on the alias and / or the "as wife" comment.

This is also a comment against sarah's occupation and and against christopher in the invalidity column.

I'd welcome any view on what these entries might mean

thanks in advance

Can someone help with an 1841/register lookup of this family please.

I'm trying to identify James Buckley married to Sarah Conway sometime around 1840 I think.  I have them from earlier family research with two children Ann Elizabeth Buckley born:1840 Marsh Gate, Doncaster and Emma Buckley 1844 born Doncaster.  The nearest match I can find in the 1851 Census is

James Buckley age 41 in Barnsley Yorks
Sarah age 38 in Honley Yorks

Children all born Barnsley.

Thomas age 14
Ann age 10
William age 8
Hannah age 5
Sarah age 2.

This looks the right family but I had birthplace of Ann Elizabeth and Emma as Doncaster.

There is a death of Emma Buckley in 1847 in Bradford from the free BMD but there are a lot of Buckley,s so this may not be the right one

Can anyone see the family in the 1841 census and does it shed any light on why I had Emma and Elizabeth born in Doncaster

Does anyone have access to the parish registers to confirm that Sarah's maiden name was Conway?

Many thanks

Norfolk / Thomas PATTEN - Walpole - lost him plus Elizabeth ADAMS
« on: Monday 13 February 06 15:52 GMT (UK)  »
I'm looking for Thonam PATTEN ( PATTERN) born Walpole St Peter Norfolf around 1829 according to the census from 1861 through to 1901.   He married Elizabeth ADAMS in Wisbech District in Sep quarter 1856 vol 3b / 909.   I think this is correct as I have Thomas and Elizabeth on that page and in the census living there but Thomas does not cone up on any of the searches of the BMD I have to scan the pages to find him.

I'm looking for Thomas in the 1851 censes when at age 22 he might be at home or working away - to date I have not found him even after viewing all the scans for the Walpole area by eye.   Can anyone see what I have missed and pick him up?

I'd also be interested if anyone has access to the 1841 for Walpole and area to see if he is there with his family so that I can get to the next step.

Although for once he married late enough for me to get his marriage certificate and get details from that as well.

I have Elizabeth Born Wormegay 1835 with parents Henry and Jane Minns and Jane with parents Wn and Mary with jane born in Roydon

As usual any help greatfuly appreciated

Regards

Stuart
