Hi folk's I wonder if I could trouble anyone visiting Newcastle library to look up an obituary for 13th july 1903 for James Smith I suspect a resident of Alnwick. We recently had confirmation he was my
Gtx2 Grandfathers brother born in Buckinghamshire c1827  but after a long army career ended up
in Alnwick at the end of the 1800's.

« on: Thursday 28 September 23 12:17 BST (UK)  »
Morning folk's help needed on this person. When my wifes Grandmother passed among photo's and
documents we inherited was a yellowing envelope from the then Imperial war graves commision
containing the register from the WW2 Ottawa memorial for those missing on operations and accidents
in North America and the Carribean. She had enquired about Sgt. Ronald Farnsworth missing on ops
out of the bahamas in 1943.Mary's mother was Harriet Farnsworth b.1877 to Abram and Jane near
Consett.Harriet married James Wilson in 1899 Lanchester I'm trying to find the link between daughter
Mary my wifes Grandmother and Ephriam and Ronald his son as there must have been one to enquire
to the Commission.Any help appreciated.

Durham / Jane Ann Potts Gateshead/Wardley.
« on: Sunday 30 April 23 19:12 BST (UK)  »
Evening folk's,Jane A Potts married my Uncle Robert Henry Smith in 1936,I can't pick up the place
only that it was County Durham I would think Gateshead as my Grandparents lived in Felling at the
time.Robert and Jane had a son born 1936.Robert was killed in France 1940 with the DLI so neither
he or Jane were Known to me but I believe their son visited my parents and I have a photo of him in
his National service days in the army.I wondered if anyone can cast light on Jane and her family as I
can't see anything census wise I think she may have had a brother Robert as he is named in my Uncle's army will.Any info would be appreciated her last place of abode was Wardley according to the
family info on Roberts CWGC entry.
Regard's Steve.

Devon / 1917 wedding Earnest williams to Minnie Kirton.Ivybridge.
« on: Sunday 15 January 23 19:11 GMT (UK)  »
Hi folk's,a very very long shot!My Grandmothers sister was Minnie Kirton b1893 in Gateshead.
this was her given name and not a variation of any other. After the 1911 census I can find no
trace of her at all the very few women sharing her name I think I've traced as far as marriage's
etc are concerned however not recorded on free BMD but found today on Findmypast is the above
wedding I wondered if anyone knowing where to look could find any info I know it's the other end of
the country but given the fact there was a war on and she was only 24 it is possible work might have
made her travel.
Kind regard's Steve,

Durham / William and Margaret Round Willington Durham.
« on: Monday 06 December 21 15:42 GMT (UK)  »
Hi folk's these are my Gt Gt Grandparent's their two sons Lorenzo Dennison and John Henry were
both born in Willington,William from Dudley in the midlands and Margaret from Mickleton Yorks neither
with any obvious links to anywhere where the name Lorenzo could have been "plucked" from.I was
looking on Familysearch and found a christening for Lorenza A.n..ia(as transcribed) which is the female spelling and registered a year previous to Lorenzo's birth anyone got access to records that
might shed light would be appreciated free BMD has no reference to Lorenza's birth in 1876.
thanks Steve.
