Census and Resource Discussion / Missing people in U.S. censuses.
« on: Monday 16 April 18 23:43 BST (UK)  »
I have a couple ladies who went missing from U.S. census records living in Pennsylvania and I was wondering if anyone had any tips to find out what happened to them? I have one born 1840 and she's on the 1850 census but not for any of the censuses after that, and her sister who was born 1836 and shows up on 1850 census through 1870 but she's gone by 1880. I assume they either died or got married. On Ancestry I'm not pulling in any records for marriages or deaths for these ladies. :( When I do searches on Ancestry the marriage and other records that do come up don't have enough info in them for me to be certain it's the correct record. Anyone have any tips for me? Thanks so much!! Felicia
