World War Two / Adopted grave of Frederick White
« on: Tuesday 28 December 21 21:26 GMT (UK)  »
Dear People of Rootschat,

Last year I adopted the grave of Frederick White.

I have some trouble locating his family, all I know is the information I have is from the wargraves committee and the cwgc.

Is there anyone here with more information or maybe some help finding his relatives.

I know he was married to Hazel Joan White of Walpole Highway Cambridgeshire and his parents were Albert and Mary White.

He was from the 621 Field sqn, Royal Engineers and died on 5 February 1945 aged 25.

His service number is: 1922883.

At this point I am completely stuck in my research.

Any help would be kindly appreciated!

Kind regards,

World War Two / Looking for relatives of
« on: Tuesday 30 April 19 10:16 BST (UK)  »
Dear all,

I am looking for relatives of John Kenneth Mansley from Atherton Lancashire.

I have been searching for almost a year now, without any result. I mostly posted requests in local facebook groups but nobody seems to know the family.

I am looking for relatives for the Lancaster ED706 Memorial Almere  in the Netherlands where for the first time a memorial service was held at the monument of the crash on May 1st 1943.

All crew members on board were killed and we want their story to be told!

I have been able to locate the other 6 relatives of the crew, but not the relatives of Sgt. Mansley.

Is there anyone here who can help me find out?

Here's a link to our website: http://lancastered706memorial.nl/

Thank you in advance!

Kind regards,

This forum has been of great help until now, but I am still looking for more families. I am still looking for 3 more.

In my previous topic we have been looking for sergeant W.R. Louth, and we did! Thanks for that!
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=794284.0

I am still looking for:

LEON HANNAM, Son of Leon and Margaret Cecil Emma Hannam, of Islington, London. Service Number 1383305 and date of death is 01/05/1943.

We have been able to find two nephews, but they do not respond to my messages for some reason.

I hope that we'll be able to find relatives!

For those who don't know what this is about, here is a link to the website of the monument we are building! https://davevancoolwijk.wixsite.com/halifaxmonument

David

Currently I am researching the crash of Halifax bomber JB803 KN-G, which crashed in my hometown Muiden, the Netherlands.

We are erecting a monument in honour of the crew of this Halifax.

I am looking for information about William Robert Louth of Hayes Middlesex and relatives, also we are looking for a photo of him. He is the only crewmember still missing. The other 6 died when the Halifax crashed and were buried in Muiden.

Why am I looking for information and relatives? There is a good chance we have traced where Louth is buried.

The day after the crash a wounded RAF airman was found near Muiden. He was unconscious and died on may 13th without ever waking up. He had no means of identification on his body. He was buried in a grave as an unknown airman of the RAF. I have tried several museums and archives, but without luck. They adviced me to use social media.

Is there anyone who can help me out? Are there any relatives still alive? An unconfirmed source said he had been married. But I have not been able to find anything on that. He was born 31 st October 1920. I am also not sure if he was born in Hayes, Middlesex

I have tried the Yorkshire Airmuseum, www.cwgc.org and several others, but without result.

Thank you in advance!
