Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Thomas Sykes, Leeds - Look Up Please
« on: Friday 08 September 06 09:22 BST (UK)  »
As I am resident in Portugal I cannot easily do Look Ups.

I would like to confirm through the Electoral Register who was resident at 12 Nippet Mount Leeds, (Burmontofts Ward District AD),in 1935/6/7.  This should show my Father Thomas and hopefully his family, which I believe to be William and Annie (my potential Grandparents).

Can anyone help please?

Many thanks

Thomas is my father, born 1912, I believe in Leeds.  His father is William Sykes.  Thomas marries my Mother Doris Kirlew in 1937 and at that time he is living at Nippet Mount, Burmontofts Leeds.

I have a great deal of information on the Kirlew line but virtually nothing on my fathers side.  Yorkshire BDM searches have drawn a blank as have census searches for William.

Can anyone help please?

Can you help?
My G Grandfather was Thomas McGuinness born 1861 (poss Cork.)
His father was  Stephen McGuinness born 1840.
I think her may have been a farmer in Cork.
I am planning a trip to Ireland in the summer to do some research but I don't have much to go on.

The 1891 census shows a private Thomas McGuinness at St Botolph in Colchester. I think this may have been my GG Grandfather. Can anyone tell me which regiment was based there at the time and how I might get any further details on this person. As he was from Ireland this is all I have to go on.
Thanks, Catherine.

Thomas was the son of Stephen (dob c1840)

I believe my family farmed in County Cork.

Thomas married Annie Payne in Leeds, Yorkshire in 1895.  The Cert states Thomas was a farmer, now deceased.

I have no other detail.  Can anyone help please?

Many thanks

I am searching for the Johnsons of Berwick upon Tweed Northumberland.
James Johnson was my GG Grandfather. He moved to Leeds Yorkshire some time between his birth & the 1851 census.
He married Elizabeth Toomey in 1880, they had 7 children and remained in Leeds until his death in1899.
