Surrey Lookup Requests / Eva Ingeborg Peerless born 9 Oct 1904 Broadstone, Dorset
« on: Sunday 10 March 24 11:13 GMT (UK)  »
The above was the 2nd child of William Thomas Peerless (1876-1950) and Lydia Julie or Julie Lydia Hofft (1876-1959). Eva married Horace Sidney Anscomb (born 29 Jul 1905) 6 Aug 1928 in Croydon, Surrey. At 1934 she resided at Sutton & Cheam with Horace but by 1939 they were both living at 124 Tenison Road, Cambridge. At 1945 Horace was living alone at 68 Church Hill Rd, Epsom.
I can't find either of their death records?
There is an Ancestry tree that says they died in Australia but with no sources?

The above was one of 3 daughters of Thomas Joshua Parker 1856-1917 & Amelia Matilda Masters 1863-1943. Clarice married John William Summers (b 1894) in 1914 Ashfield, and they appeared to have had 2 children at least: Blanche Amelia 1914-1937 who married Frederick Basil Markham in 1934 at Burrowa, he seems to have married again. Sidney John Summers appeared at Bankstown North in 1949 with Clarice.
There were 2 other daughters of Thomas and Amelia: Elsie P Parker b 1888 Canterbury, New South Wales and Edah V Parker b 1893 Burwood, New South Wales; both of whom I know nothing?
Help, please.

The above was the son of Benjamin James Palmer 1876-1962 and Anne or Annie Rosser 1879-1926. He appeared on the 1921 Census with his parents at 16 Gardner Road, Bromley. Then he married Alice Dorothy Parker (b 27 Jun 1910) Q3 1936 at Bermondsey, she seems to have died Jan 1999 at Enfield, Greater London.
However, I can find no records for William after his marriage?

How can I remove the above from my Windows 11 PC? Microsoft seem to force these on me even if I don't want them! I've already got an antivirus program so why would I need another one!

World War One / Private Herb Barber WW1 Australian Army
« on: Saturday 03 February 24 10:18 GMT (UK)  »
Very little is known about the above, other than his parents were Andrew Bartley Barber & Margaret nee Cook (Koch). Herb died in England from pneumonia after being gassed earlier on; I think it was just before the war ended. It was from him that the Croix de Guerre medal was passed on shown on a different post here.
There was another Herb Barber was shot and died aged 17 at Bardia (c 1940) while his platoon was landing from the barge.

World War One / WW1 Australian medal

The attached shows a medal apparently given for duty in France to an Australian soldier. Any idea what it's for?

The above married twice, once to Pansy Lily Nichols Q2 1938 at Hendon whom he appears to have divorced and then married Helene M nee Green Morley Q3 1948 at Marylebone. They had 3 children born in Hampstead, Watford and Worthing and they seem to have travelled to Australia 15 Apr 1957 on Orontes but returned 15 Dec 1960. Looks like as his job was a refrigeration engineer he had to travel around! However I don't know what happened to the family after 1960?

The above married Harold Hayter 1934 in Islington, London and they had 3 children and emigrated to Australia 11 Nov 1953 on ship New Australia, he was born c1910 in Bargoed, Wales, I believe. They were living at 26 Tobruk Crescent, Orange East, Calare, New South Wales between 1972-1980.
After 1980 I can find no records for them?
There is a link on the Other Countries board regarding her and the family.

Other Countries / Rosalie Morris born 1915 Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, India
« on: Monday 22 January 24 15:58 GMT (UK)  »
I've just found the above on the 1921 UK Census with her mother, Blanch nee Waymark Morris and siblings. Blanch and her husband Robert Owen Morris were Salvation Army Officers and I think Blanch was on leave from India in 1921 as her husband wasn't with her.
Is it possible to find out more about Rosalie?
