Yorkshire (East Riding & York) / cremation records
« on: Wednesday 17 July 19 14:37 BST (UK)  »
I just need some help,
i'm looking for a cremation record of Thomas William Bruines (known as billy), who died in Hull at home, on the 8th January 1942 aged 20 (b. 13 nov 1921)
I found a obituary in the Hull daily mail, which state that he had a service at derringham church, in willerby, with a later cremation, but it doesn't say if he was buried with any another person or what he died of, it's been an ever lasting wonder as he is my grandmothers uncle, i thought he would have been injuries in WW2 but i cannot find anything to back this up. i have also tried burial records too.

if it helps they lived on woodlands road in 1939.

I'm looking for an ancestor who died when she was a baby.
her name is Clara Harrison, appears in 1871 census aged 1;

Name:   Clara Harrison
Age:   1
Estimated birth year:   abt 1870
Relation:   Daughter
Father's name:   John Harrison
Mother's name:   Maria Harrison
Gender:   Female
Where born:   Hull, Yorkshire, England
Civil Parish:   Sculcoates
Ecclesiastical parish:   St Mary
County/Island:   Yorkshire
Country:   England
Registration district:   Sculcoates
Sub-registration district:   East Sculcoates
ED, institution, or vessel:   6
Household schedule number:   140
Piece:   4781
Folio:   136
Page Number:   25

and does not show up in 1881.
so i presumed that she had died, i found through the free search on Find my past this;

Clara   Harrison   1869   1871   Sculcoates, All Saints & St Mary's   Yorkshire (East Riding)

i can't seem to find any burial records for this church to clarify it's her, nor an actual death date and why.

is there anybody that could help me find this missing girl

Hi all,

can anybody help me with an issue ive been continually having!

I've been looking for my 2x Great grandparents date of death, for around a year now, contacting several family members to help (leading to nothing).
I was told they are both buried in western cemetery (Hull) but because i haven't got a date of death, the time frame is too large to look effectively, i have always been told they died before my grandfather was born (1937-2010). however, i have trailed the burial records myself and are unable to find them. I've tried newspapers too but i can't seem to find a probate, will or death announcement

bare in mind, the last name Harrison and Henry are so common in the 1800! >:( >:( this is the information i have so far

Henry Harrison - 17th July 1871 (Sculcoates)
parents are John Harrison (1837-1900) and Maria Harrison (Nee Shipley) (1836-1980)

Henrys wife is Hannah Harrison (Nee Dealtry) Born around 1875.

Henry and Hannah married on the 15th January 1893 in Kingston upon Hull, at the parish church in drypool. They had 3 children;
Frederick (abt. 1904)
Elsie (abt 1905)
Henry (1910-1991)

any ideas or information that could help me would be amazing!

hi everyone,

I've been researching non stop about my 5x great grandparents who were from Karlsruhe, Baden, Prussia?
but i can't seem to find much information on them, so i would love some help!

John Tosler (born as Johannes Tiler) was born in Karlsruhe, Baden, Prussia on march 15Th 1783.
he married Susanna Mann (1776- no death date) in Hull, Yorkshire, England.
i am not sure when he and his family came to Hull, as i can't seem to find any records!
he died abt 1836.
his parents are
Johannes Tiler (no date of birth or death)
Elisabatha Kronerin (no date of birth or death).

I'm wondering if anybody could give me any tips or find any information on these people?

Hi everyone. I wasn't sure where to post this, so thought I'd give this ago.

I've been searching for my grandmother's biological father for some time now but I've come to a stand still.

My grandma and her twin was born in 1944 in Kingston Upon Hull. Her BM Edna bruines (1917-1990) was already married to Robert Solly who was sent away during the war. Edna had an affair with either an American or Canadian solider who was based in Kingston Upon Hull around 1939-1945. Both twins were going to he adopted out but her twin brother got poorly so they decided to keep him (Edna husband used to batter him for not being his).

Anyway, we have the birth certificate, no fathers name and all other information went to the grave with her and told her next set of daughters to destroy everything paperwise.
We are in the middle of unsealing her birth records but I'm afraid nothing valuable will be in there.
My question is, is there anyone who can help me find records of American and Canadian army and raf who was stationed in Kingston Upon Hull? I have done an ancestry DNA with many American matches but no way to separate maternal and paternal due to estrangement with my own father.
Mother and grandmother won't pay for a dna test either.

Another issue, is there anyway I can get access to army records of Robert Solly (1912-1982) I need to know when he was sent away and discharged due to other issue.

I don't know where my next step is, and I'm hoping someone will be my angel and help.
