Cork / Hodnett - Ireland Cork
« on: Monday 15 October 07 19:57 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help?

I am trying to trace my Irish ancestors.

Ann Hodnett born c 1848 in the 1871 English census she was listed as Ann Sago of Ireland, Cork. Unsure of which parish in Cork or from City of Cork.

She married at Mary & Joseph's Catholic church, aged 17 yrs in Poplar, London on 06/03/1864 to George Robert Seago of Norfolk (listed as Sego) -Her Father is listed as Francis Hodnett a labourer (I have not been able to trace her father on the 1871 or a death record). Witnesses were Charles and Mary Barry.

by 1881 she had four children Amelia c1865, George Augustus c1868, Maria c1871 and Ellen c1874 - these names may have been re-used from previous generations.

many thanks

Trying to find any relatives or anyone else who have researched this family or knows anything on Amelia's family history.

Amelia Ann Seago born sep 1891 she married Arthur John Farrow in 1912 and I believe they had 7 children.

I have seen her Birth Certificate and traced her on the 1901 census listed as Amelia Sego.

England / John Seago or Sago - circus groom // Ann Ardmile
« on: Monday 24 April 06 13:04 BST (UK)  »
I'm look for a John Seago with a circus link (taken from a birth certificate for his daughter Amelia Ann Seago who was born in Norwich Sept 1891), he doesn't appear to show on the 1891 census, maybe he was on tour in another country during the time of the census.

I've checked www.thegalloper.com website and I cannot trace him on this site or any Seago's or Sago's connected with the circus in the late 19th century.

Anyone got any ideas? ???

Ireland / John Seago / Sago / Ardmile / Circus
« on: Thursday 20 April 06 23:31 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for a John Seago who work at a circus in 1891.

I believe he married an Ann Ardmile (this is what its says on my birth certificate). who could be Irish.

He had links to Norwich, Norfolk in late 1891 and possibly Middlesex prior to 1881 uk census.

He may have been one of a number of male Seago / Sago's who worked at travelling shows.

I do not think he had any direct links to the artist Edward Seago who travelled with a circus in the late 1920's.

Norfolk / John SEAGO at the Circus!
« on: Thursday 20 April 06 23:18 BST (UK)  »
Has anyone heard of any circus links to the name Seago, other than Edward Seago.

John Seago was working as a groom at a circus in 1891 he possibly had links to Ireland as I believe his wife Ann Ardmile could have been Irish.

He was registered as father to Amelia Ann Seago born 24/09/1891 in Norwich - they are not listed at this property in 1891 census.
