Could anyone date this photo please and have a guess at the lady's age. Some members of the family believe it could be Elizabeth Mills (1864-1936) but there are other possibilities

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Kathie & Pat need some help please
« on: Wednesday 05 August 20 14:53 BST (UK)  »
Could someone remove the scratches and blemishes on this photo of Kathie and Pat taken in the late 1930s in the Bedford area please. I am not sure about the black blob by Kathie's head, I don't think it is her hair which probably looked more like Pat's.
Thanks - Robert

Is it possible to date this photograph of Tasburgh Post Office please, I am guessing the firt decade of the 20th century but would appreciate a tighter dating if possible. The people are members of the Davey/Ellis families. Not a terribly clear photo but could anyone give a guesstimate of the ages of the three people?

Thanks
Robert

Armed Forces / Terratorial camp?
« on: Tuesday 23 September 14 23:25 BST (UK)  »
The attached photos include George Brown (corporal with moustach), born 1871; lived in Bungay, Suffolk until at least 1891 but was living in Bedford by 1896. They are believed to show a Terratorial Army camp, is this correct and is any information about the unit available from the photos.

New Zealand Completed Requests / Norah Earl, nee Batchelor COMPLETED
« on: Thursday 21 August 14 15:26 BST (UK)  »
Norah Batchelor was born on the 26th March 1889 in Betchworth, Surrey England. She married Charles Albert Earl in 1912 in Kensington, London, England. Charles died in 1946 but I had been unable to find any UK records of Norah after 1946, including any record of her death.

I have just discovered that she emigrated to New Zealand in 1956. She left Liverpool on the 7th January 1956 on the SS Tamora, belonging to Shaw Saville & Albion Co., with the port of destination given as Auckland. I assume that she was going to live with relatives in New Zealand although I was not aware of any family members there. I would be grateful for any information about Norah in New Zealand.

Robert.

Sussex / Mormon converts in Sussex - Weller
« on: Monday 28 April 14 22:40 BST (UK)  »
Some of my Wellers seem to have become Mormons some time in the 1860s and emigrated to Utah in 1877. Is there any information on the Mormons in Sussex in this period?

Joseph Weller (b1818 Northiam) and two of his children, Elizabeth Weller (b1859 Ewhurst) & Jesse Heber Weller (b 1869 Brede) emigrated to Utah in 1877 via Liverpool.

Two of Joseph's children were christened in the parish church in Ewhurst in 1861 which might suggest that he had not then converted but Jesse Heber's second name suggests a Mormon link by1869. Joseph's wife Susannah (nee Vine) died the year before he emigrated. There seems to some doubt as to whether she was Jesse's mother.

Northamptonshire / Northamptonshire Police Archives
« on: Tuesday 22 October 13 00:13 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone know if historical records of police officers are accessable anywhere?  I am trying to find information about a Charles Davey, born Tasburgh, Norfolk, 1883. In the 1911 census he was boarding with an Andrews family in Deanshanger and described as a Police Constable in the Northants Constabulary.
