Devon / Abigail Channon of Bulstone, Branscombe died 1706
« on: Tuesday 26 July 22 09:28 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I have been researching my ancestor, Abigail Channon of Bulstone, Branscombe, who died in 1706. On the Internet Archive I found this:
Stone tablets on floor: Abigail, the pious wife of Thomas Channon of Bulstone, committed her soul to the mercy of God, 7 Jun 1706
I wonder if someone who lives in Branscombe would be kind enough to take a picture of this inscription for me?
Many thanks.
Sue

Hello,

My ancestor John Whitty mentioned a leasehold estate called Simons Downe in Axminster in his will.
Can anyone please tell me whereabouts in Axminster this may be?

Thank you.

If anyone has female ancestors who went to Broadwater Road Primary School in Wandsworth in 1910, please contact me as I have a photo of a class of 12-13 year-old girls who attended that school, which I would be very happy to share.

London and Middlesex / Baptism records Deptford
« on: Thursday 11 September 14 09:16 BST (UK)  »
My g3 grandfather, Edward Ford, was born to a CofE father, John Ford,  and a Catholic mother, Hannah nee Brady, in Deptford about 1823. His siblings were John 1825, Margaret 1826, Mary 1828, Daniel 1830, Hannah 1832, William 1834 and David 1837. Parents John and Hannah married at St Alphage, Greenwich, on 26th May, 1822. I cannot find baptism records for the children and suspect that they may have been baptised at a Catholic church. Records at Our Lady of Assumption on Deptford High Street are from 1842 onwards, so where do I look for records prior to this date? Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks, Sue
