My brother just received the records of our GGrandmother from the Lancs Record Office. Excellent service! We received a death notice and detailed medical records and a photograph! However, it was harrowing reading. I had never met this person but I was nearly reduced to tears reading her notes. What a horrible time she had for the 20 years she was incarcerated. I like to think she would not have suffered so cruelly today.

A contact has informed me that one of my families had another daughter. Her name is Helen McKenzie Wright, parents Janet McKenzie and Alexander Wright. The family were in Glasgow but I can't find a birth for this daughter (c 1885). I was also told she married in NZ but I don't know where.

Is it possible to find a marriage with just the brides name? I am hoping that a marriage cert will confirm parentage. I would be grateful if someone could look for me or at least point me in the right direction. Thanks

Technical Help / FTM 2005

When tidying up the home computer OH uninstalled FTM. I have tried to reload it but it keeps saying 'critical components missing. Uninstall and re install' I have tried several times but no joy

Does anyone know what these 'critical components' might be and why they are suddenly 'missing'?

Any tips for searching these? I tried to search them last night but it was soooo sloooow I gave up! I am unable to find some of my Welsh marriages and thought I might find them in these records.

to find out how a sailor died at sea? My GGrandfather, Murdoch McKenzie, was apparently taken ill and died in Apr 1886. His ship was just off Brisbane so he was buried at Toowoomba. I have the grave info but I would like to know exactly what happened if poss.

If you are at a bit of a loose end could you try to find the following:

Annie E McKenzie b 30/11/1886, Lawrence , MA to Philip Chesbro b c1884. I know they had at least 2 children - Dorothy b abt 1910 and Gordon b abt 1911. Father Alexander McKenzie, Mother Lucy Fish.

Margaret McKenzie b 1891 Fitchburg, MA to Verlyn Bryant b 1887 GeorgiA (MA?)

Sarah (Sadie) McKenzie b 1897 Fitchburg, MA. to Joseph Ryan b c1896, Illinois
Father to Sarah and Margaret, Kenneth McKenzie, Mother Sarah Scott.

I have tried Family Search and a few other sites but I just can't see them.

Find BDM's in US, 1900 to present? (Maine and Massachusetts mainly) I have tried family search but their records only seem to go to 1915. Tried 'Googling' sites but no luck yet.
