William Williamson died on the 12th November 1881 aged 70 suggesting he was born around 1811.
His wife Jane Williamson died on the 26th March 1887 aged 78 suggesting she was born around 1809. They had a daughter, Jane, who died in 1921 aged 77 suggesting she was born around 1844/ 1845 which suggests they got married in 1844.
The Irish Genealogical website provided details for two Williamson weddings in 1845/46 but in both cases the couples ages shown do not correspond with the birth dates suggested by their respective Death Certificates.
The Williamson/Massey wedding in Newry, Co Down was interesting as I had received correspondence from a lady in Australia who has a match with my DNA. She has Williamsons in her family who came from Kettering in Northamptonshire in GB prior to 1850.
On the 1845 Marriage Cert. for Williamson/Massey William is listed as a Shoemaker and we know that Kettering was famous for shoes in the past. Furthermore, the Marriage Cert. has no information relating to either parties Fathers name or profession so I was speculating that some of the Williamson family emigrated to Australia, willingly or otherwise, while William headed across to Ireland, possibly with Jane Massey in tow!
This all makes a kind of sense apart from the Birth Date discrepancies unless the ages shown on the Marriage Certificate are wrong.
Any help greatly appreciated as ever!
