Family History Beginners Board / William Williamson
« on: Thursday 23 July 20 17:09 BST (UK)  »
William Williamson died on the 12th November 1881 aged 70 suggesting he was born around 1811.
His wife Jane Williamson died on the 26th March 1887 aged 78 suggesting she was born around 1809. They had a daughter, Jane, who died in 1921 aged 77 suggesting she was born around 1844/ 1845 which suggests they got married in 1844.
The Irish Genealogical website provided details for two Williamson weddings in 1845/46 but in both cases the couples ages shown do not correspond with the birth dates suggested by their respective Death Certificates.
The Williamson/Massey wedding in Newry, Co Down was interesting as I had received correspondence from a lady in Australia who has a match with my DNA. She has Williamsons in her family who came from Kettering in Northamptonshire in GB prior to 1850.
On the 1845 Marriage Cert. for Williamson/Massey William is listed as a Shoemaker and we know that Kettering was famous for shoes in the past. Furthermore, the Marriage Cert. has no information relating to either parties Fathers name or profession so I was speculating that some of the Williamson family emigrated to Australia, willingly or otherwise, while William headed across to Ireland, possibly with Jane Massey in tow!
This all makes a kind of sense apart from the Birth Date discrepancies unless the ages shown on the Marriage Certificate are wrong.
Any help greatly appreciated as ever!

« on: Wednesday 17 June 20 16:49 BST (UK)  »
William Davis and Jane Davis (nee Williamson) married in Belfast on the 22nd May 1867. I know they had two daughters, Mary Jane born in 1875 and Ellen born in 1877. I reckon they would have had other children but can find no record. Can anyone help please?

Family History Beginners Board / When did Jeanie Thompson die?
« on: Wednesday 10 June 20 15:07 BST (UK)  »
According to the 1911 Irish Census Jeanie Thompson was 9 months old when it was held suggesting she was born in 1910 but I can find no record of her birth. She lived at 36 Penrith Street, Belfast and I've been told she died as a baby but here again I can find no record of her death. Her parents were David and Ellen Thompson (my grandparents). I found one record of a Jeanie Thompson dying as a baby in June 1905 but it was not our Jeanie. Any help would be appreciated.

Agnes Patterson married Archibald Carse on the 31st January 1860 in Comber, Co Down. Her father is listed as Hamilton Patterson and I'm trying to find more information about him. He is listed as a Farmer in either what appears to be Ballyvea or Ballyrea. Any information would be appreciated.

Family History Beginners Board / Who did William Reid marry?
« on: Sunday 29 September 19 20:49 BST (UK)  »
I'm looking for information about my Grandfather, William Reid, born 8/4/1897 in Belfast and died 17/8/1979 in the Moyle Hospital in Larne, Co Antrim.
He married Hannoria Gorman in Belfast on the 27 August 1921 but she died on the 21 January 1933.
William subsequently married a lady I only know as "Teeny". Sadly, I have no information about her at all other than to say she was alive when I was a youngster at home (I was born in 1947).
At some point "Teeny" died and William married a girl from Larne called Mary Ann (Molly) who died on the 13th May 1995 (no maiden name available). Molly was buried from Craigyhill Presbyterian Church in Larne. Any information would be appreciated.

We don't know if he is alive or not but, just in case, I've removed the query.
