Hi all,
I have just received a couple of new threads to research. So far without any luck, so help is needed please.

I have a new Hugh and Jane Stapleton (No further info)

(no wife as yet)

Son of John:  Samuel Stapleton B 1773- 1826 (Occupation Gold and Silver Wyre Drawer).
who was apprenticed to a William Sansum on 3 June 1800. (Source London Apprenticeship Abstracts, 1442-1850.

Previous  occupation of Samuel Stapleton could be a retailer of grain and allied products.

(I have four  children for Samuel Stapleton and Lucy Napper M 1809 Children B from 1816-23, but there could be more children from 1909 to 1816, possibly a George, Samuel and an Ann.

Would be grateful for any further information. Cheers ferndale

Hi All,
I am looking for the birth of Samuel and William (son) Stapleton.  My latest lead suggests Kent, but by no means certain.  Can we trust the words of a fraudulant insolvent on his way to Bathurst Jail in 1842.
Samuel M Lucy Napper in 1809 at St Bride.
4 children from 1816 to 1823.  I think there could be more.  Long gap between 1809 and 1916.
Wm B 1819 christened at St Martin in the Fields, and died in Melbourne, Victoria Australia in 1867.

Any info at all would be appreciated.  many thanks. Dale

PS Mother  Lucy (nee Napper) Stapleton died in 1833. So neither parents are on 1841 Census and Wm is in Australia by 1839.  He Married Sarah Leonard in March 1840 in Bathurst, Australia

« on: Thursday 24 March 16 15:50 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All,
I recently posted a topic for Samuel Stapleton without any success, so I thought I might put it out for everyone. I did get the 1773 year of birth about 6-8 yrs ago, but have  no idea who found it for me or if there were any parents etc.

He Married Lucy Napper in 1809 at St Bride, Fleet Street, London. Lucy died in Work  House in 1833 and Samuel died on the 5 March, 1826, Burial Place St. James
Pentonville.
Residence from 1810-1826 Clerkenwell, St James and St. John. (Or work address)

They had 4 children that I know of
John B 1816 Bapt.  St Martins in the Fields
Lucy B 1817          St Andrews, Holborn
William B 1818/9 Bapt St Martins in the Fields
Mary Ann B 1823   "          "         "         "

I have his will which is very hard to read which states 1773-1826.

Open to any suggestions. Many thanks . Family members think perhaps Kent (apparently there is a Manor House there, but I have my doubts!!)On Death Cert of son Wm who died in Victoria Australia in 1867 it says he was born in (I think its Hertfordshire) which I think its a bit off if he was baptised in St Martins.

« on: Sunday 18 October 15 14:04 BST (UK)  »
Hi all

I am looking for the death of Lucy Stapleton (nee Napper Born 16/11/1791
Saint Andrew, Holborn, London.
She Married  SAMUEL STAPLETON AT
Saint Bride, Fleet Street, London on the 2nd April 1809.

Apparently she died in a "Workhouse"?, I assume in London, 1833.  Any more details would be appreciated.

Children:
John B 1816
Lucy B 1817
William B 1819
Mary Ann B 1823.

Large number of years between 1809 and 1816 - does this suggest there may be other children.
Possibly a George, Samuel and Ann.

Cheers and thankyou Ferndale
