One Name Studies: H to M / Legerton family in Essex
« on: Sunday 12 June 22 11:17 BST (UK)  »
I am tracing the history of shop owners in Worcester High street. Elizabeth Legerton owned an outfitters shop. She died in 1909. Is anybody else tracing this lady?

Hi, I'm trying to find again a record for an area called Northend, Madresfield. I have found the main village record but it was not there. I think I found it as part of Malvern.

The area was called Bunn's Green, but I can find no reference to the family.
Any help or suggestions welcome. Thank you.

Worcestershire / No.1 Malvern Rd, St Johns, Worcester
« on: Saturday 24 March 18 11:01 GMT (UK)  »
In 1874 the owner Elizabeth Maybury died. The photo I have shows a family at the door, but there appears to be trade signs over the porch. I have searched the census and trade directories without any success. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Staffordshire / HEMMINGS/DUDLEY Annie is missing
« on: Friday 20 December 13 07:55 GMT (UK)  »
Very complicated folks:
Annie Hemmings born 1885/6 Stow on the Wold. This is proven.
She may have had a liaison with a man with the name Dudley (could be given or surname) who was an Agent on a large estate. This is speculative.
The name Dudley was added to her daughter Cecilia Dudley Hemmings born 1905 in Upton on Severn died 1982 in Malvern. This is proven.
Between 1929 and 1937 nine children are listed in Stoke and the children's and mother's surname in the record swap between Hemmings and Dudley. e,g 1929 baby called Hemmings mother Dudley
1916 baby called Dudley mother Hemmings The may be a co-incidence.
Can you find Annie between birth and having Cecilia?
Anything at all could help the search. I'm totally flummoxed.
Thanks Mike

Worcestershire Resources & Offers / Lost relis POWICK VILLAGE CIRCA 1850
« on: Wednesday 13 March 13 12:48 GMT (UK)  »
To fill my time I have transcribed many articles from Local Newspapers re POWICK VILLAGE in the 1850's
If you have missing relis e.g. farm fires, may have been killed in an accident, infant deaths, murder etc post their name and date you have them in Powick and I will have a look for details.
I promise nothing but try very hard.
I have been advised that transcription is free of copyright for personal use.
