Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Medical report
« on: Wednesday 15 September 21 16:04 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,

I have two sections from a children's home medical report. The first section I can't really understand any of it.

The second part I think says Has worked in laundry since - not equal for 51hrs work. It is the last part I'm not sure if I'm reading it right.

Also any help with the first section would be much appreciated.

Many thanks Mark

I have just received a copy of a relatives asylum records but can only make out a few words. From what I know she had something wrong from birth and was in a children's home until she was put in the asylum at about 23.

There are two paragraphs. Any help with either would be much appreciated.

Thanks Mark

Many thanks for any help.

Armed Forces / Army records

Hi, I know getting records are going to be delayed due to covid but I just wondered if they still cash the cheque straight away. It was only about 2 months ago I sent the forms but the cheque still hasn't been cashed. Is this normal? I didn't want to spend the money if they may take it in several months.

Thanks all

The Common Room / 1911 Birth certificate

Not sure if I'm posting in the right place but I have a birth certificate when my grt grandmother gave birth. She was in the workhouse at the time which is on the birth certificate as informant but then it says she was at 1 sinclair rd, Hammersmith under mother. I know the workhouse started to put a different address but they were no where near each other so I wondered why would that address be listed when she wasn't there.

Many thanks for any help, I have attached the birth certificate.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what the pencil writing says. I think it starts To Stifford as that's where the child was sent. I just wondered what the rest said and if it held any clues.

The address of my grandmother says R.C Dormitory, whitechapel. Occupation charring, employer address ____ Sefton? Whitechapel Rd.

I can't make out what it says before Sefton and if Sefton is a persons name or part of the address.

Also on the top line which is about schooling says Romford - about 6 then I can't make out the rest.

Any help much appreciated.
