Antrim / John Clarke - Alexander Street, Gracehill County Antrim
« on: Monday 15 December 08 17:36 GMT (UK)  »
Hi I'm hoping someone can help I am looking for any information on John Clarke and his Father Samuel, what would be good is date of birth, date of death, mothers name and siblings, what I know is that John Clarke was born C 1892 in Ballymena, I have found John's military records on ancestry and it gives his fathers name as Samuel the same as his marriage cert, Samuel died between 1914 and febuary 1918 but I have been unable to find any trace. The address of Samuel as Johns next of kin is giving as Alexander Street, Gracehill, the next of kin then transfers to Rebecca (john's wife) who also lives at Alexandra Street.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is quickly becoming a brickwall as I am unable to travel to Ireland and funds are limited, I also know John died before 1947 and his wife Rebecca was still alive and living in Alexandra St, maybe someone could do a look up of electrol registers for me.
Many thanks Genewizard :-\

Durham / James Gosling - Durham
« on: Saturday 26 July 08 15:20 BST (UK)  »
Hi I am hoping some one could help with James Gosling as I have seemed to have hit a brick wall with James what I know is that he married Susannah Dobson on 08/11/1868 at the the parish church of St John in Newcastle, his condition is given as a widower his occupation is seaman and his father was given as William Gosling  a farmer, on the 1881 census James is living with susanna and their children:-
Mary Jane b 1870 - Hebburn Quay
John William b 1872 Hebburn Quay
Elizabeth Ann b 1875 - Hebburn Quay
Susannah D b 1878 - Hebburn Quay
James b 1880 - Hebburn Quay
James Snr is listed as being born c 1840 in scotland and working as a waterman.
on the 13/12/1883 they had another son Joseph again born Hebburn Quay. It appears that his wife Susannah may have died in childbirth as her death was registered Dec 1883 and then James snr died 1887 in Winlaton.
What I am trying to discover is:-
when and where he was born as I can find no trace of a James Gosling born within a 5 year +- of 1840 in Scotland.
Who was his 1st wife and what children did they have him
and where was he on the 1841-1871 census as I can find no trace of him.
Hopefully someone can help thank you.
