Cambridgeshire / Thomas Watson Whittlesey/Peterborough 1901-?1991
« on: Thursday 29 April 21 13:33 BST (UK)  »
Hi, has anyone any links to a Thomas Watson, originally from Scotland but spent more of his life in Peterborough/Whittlesey area?

Born 1901 in Perth, Scotland to George Watson and Barbara Stewart.
Married Rhoda McIntosh Carr in 1927 and had one child Muriel in 1931.

Spent some time in Birmingham, working as an aircraft fitter.

When Rhoda died in 1941, I believe he moved to the Peterborough area. At some stage he worked at a music shop in Peterborough called Turners.

I am told he was at Whittlesey when he died. I'm told it was the 80s, although the only match I can find is 1991, so I think that must be him. I have that death cert on order.

Wondering if anyone knew of or has come across Thomas? I want to find out more about him and if he remarried.

Thanks in advance.

Perthshire / William Carr, Perth
« on: Monday 21 December 20 23:25 GMT (UK)  »

William Carr (1870-1946) married Agnes McIntosh (1874-1954) Perth.

On their wedding record, William's parents are listed as William Carr and Margaret Kettle.

In 1854, William Carr married JANET Kettle. Would you think that this could be the same couple at all? Or is it highly unlikely with the name Janet and Margaret being so different.
William is listed as a shoe maker on both records but perhaps that's just coincidence. I'm not sure how to figure it out. Anyone else come across these folk?
Thanks in advance,

Perthshire / McIntosh wedding 1862
« on: Sunday 20 December 20 20:44 GMT (UK)  »
Hello... Wondering has anybody else come across Hugh McIntosh marriage to Elizabeth (maiden name possibly Mauvre or something similar- working on deciphering it!)
According to their daughter's birth record (Agnes Jackson McIntos, born 1874 in Perth,) they were married July 12th 1862 in Perth. I can't seem to find their marriage record.
The birth address is listed as 4 main Street, Perth.
I'd like to find record of their marriage so I can find out more about them and hopefully clarify Elizabeth's name.
Perhaps this rings a bell with someone on here?

Kerry / Irish marriage records
« on: Monday 14 December 20 16:45 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, I'm new to this and just wanting to check in to see if someone could suggest a better way for me to search for records, specifically, Irish marriage records.
I'm trying to find further info on John Barry (1893-1961) and Bridget Collins (died 1968, dob currently not known) From gneevuilla co.Kerry
I have searched on findmypast and there is a marriage record that looks like it might fit, 1921, in Killarney. But, when I put the same information into Irish Genealogy website,to see if I can get further information, it says no records found.
Are these different sets of records, or can anyone suggest a better way for me to search?
Thanks in advance

Roxburghshire / Adam Scott Jedburgh, will 1922
« on: Friday 11 December 20 10:09 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, if anybody is researching their Scott family, Jedburgh, you might like to have the information from this will.
I have an Adam Scott, Jedburgh, but it's not this one.
I paid for this will document on Scotland's People, so might be helpful to have.
This Adam Scott was a retired China merchant, lived High street Jedburgh and was married to Robina.
Happy to share further info if anybody would like it

Kerry / Gneevuilla Barry relatives
« on: Monday 07 December 20 22:33 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all...
I'm not sure where to look for further information.
I have John Barry and Margaret Murphy; both of Gneevuilla co.Kerry.
I know they were married Nov 05 1853 and had 7 children (John 1858, Johanna 1855, Patrick 1860, Catherine 1865, Mary 1869, Margaret 1871 and Ellen 1874.)
They lived at Tureenamult, Gneevuilla. Their marriage record doesn't have mothers maiden name.
I can't identify their birth certs or find their parents names on findmypast or,  are there other places I ought to be checking out? Trying to really find them and then their parents so I can go back another generation.  Thanks in advance for any advice or help, Kerry

Roxburghshire / William Scott of Lilliesleaf
« on: Thursday 03 December 20 22:15 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all...
I wonder does anyone share William Colvine Scott on their family tree?
He was my Grandfather, born in Lilliesleaf in 1924. Parents Adam Scott and Thomasina Barbara Duncanson Cockburn.  I'm told the family home was Rosetta Cottage in Lilliesleaf.
He was in the RAF. Moved to Peterborough.Got married to Muriel Carr Watson in 1951. Had 3 children. Died in 2001- still in Peterborough.
I can find his marriage and death records, but not coming up with anything in Lilliesleaf.
I'm new to this so perhaps I'm missing something.- any help or nudge in the right direction would be great. I can't seem to find anything on him in Lilliesleaf or RAF.- so I'm struggling to get any further back.
Thanks in advance,
