Berkshire Lookup Requests / Batt family of Wallingford
« on: Tuesday 16 December 14 03:11 GMT (UK)  »
My ancestor, George Batt, and his family seemed to have a lot of their 'family events' registered in the district of Wallingford.  Not being familiar with the geography/registration districts of the UK I am hoping that someone may be able to assist in confirming/finding the records for them in any of the resources that may be available - that I don't have access to.  Specifically, I am trying to find
1) the wedding date for a James William Batt to Ellen Cope in 1880.  District of Wallingford
2) the wedding date for Annie Batt to Robert Cope in 1869.  Possibly district of Wallingford.
3) the wedding date of Joseph Napper BATT to Edith Mitchell in 1877.  Possibly district of Wallingford.
4) death of Thomas Frederick Batt in 1873.  Buried at Hagbourne.

Also, are there are directories on-line/anyone can access for me (other than the University of Leicstershire) that may span 1840's to 1859 as this is when George Batt was in Hagbourne working as a carpenter/builder, and at one stage a 'Tavern-keeper'.  I would be most grateful for any assistance.  Regards, Towaninnie.

Berkshire Lookup Requests / Napper family of Hagbourne
« on: Tuesday 16 December 14 02:59 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find information on the NAPPER family of Hagbourne, particularly on the family of Willaim Napper who was at the 'Fleur De Lys'.  He died in 1860, but I have no other information on him or his family, other than his wife was Ann (died 1852), and that they may be buried at St. Andrew's, Hagbourne.  Is any one able to access any information on this family - such as the Parish records.   I would be most obliged for any help able to be given.

Does anyone have any ties to an Alfred Marshall who was born in Hackney.  Alfred and his wife, Laura A., can be found in the 1871, 1881, and 1891 as living in Wimbledon, Surrey.  Laura's maiden name was Wheeler.  They had at least one son, Charles.  Regards, Towaninnie. Australia.

Surrey Completed Look up Requests / 1861, 1871, 1881, and 1891 census

I am trying to find out a little about a great great great Aunt of mine by the name of Mary Ann Wheeler.  She married a Charles Wheeler and was mentioned in her father's will (1872) as "Mary Ann Wheeler, widow, now of Wimbledon, Surrey".  Mary Ann moved to Australia sometime after 1872 and died here in 1915.  From her death notice I can tell that her husband was called Charles Wheeler, and they wed in or about 1861.  Mary Ann was born in 1839/40 in Hagbourne, Berrkshire.  She had  at least two daughters (names unknown) prior to leaving England.  Can anyone please help?  Regards, Tow.  Australia.
