Family History Beginners Board / Matilda Foster death

Hi. I am trying to find the death of Matilda Foster. In the 1921 census she is a widow. Her husband was Thomas Foster. They lived in Hinckley, Leics. Matilda was born in Stoke Golding 1845. She was previously married in 1872 to a Thomas Miller Tipping who died in 1874, Leics. Her maiden name was Bickley. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have an address of 15 Brooke Place, Ber Street, Norwich where my mother was brought up by her maternal grandparents. I have never know the reason why and sadly it’s too late to find out. I suspect it’s because my mother’s parents lived in one of the yards which had rather squalid conditions.

My question is I would love to know when my great grandparents 1st moved in to this address. I have contacted Norwich City Council but they were unable to give me a definite date. They are and still mostly council housing.

My mother was born in 1930 and got married from this address in 1951. Her birth certificate states a year in Norwich.

Family History Beginners Board / World War 1 - How to get a photo of my Great Uncle Sydney Walter Lincoln

Hi Everyone

My great uncle died in WW1 and sadly I have no photo of him. Feel sure I read that there was an ongoing project by the Commonwealth War? to record photos etc of all those who died. Does anyone know anymore about this please?

Sydney Walter Lincoln. Born 1890 Norwich. Died 2/11/1917 at The Egyptian Theatre of War, Palestine. He was with the Norfolk Regiment, No 200232. 1/4th Battalion.

Essex / How to research family tree before 1777.

Hi Everyone

A friend has researched my paternal line to 1777 in Chelmsford, so I am an Essex girl, surprise, surprise. Thought I was a Norwich girl through and through! Can anyone advise how to research before this date please.

Great Great Great Grandad Edward Lincoln. Born in Chelmsford 1777 and died in Purleigh 1832.

Family History Beginners Board / Beatrice Alice Lincoln - Unable to find gravestone at Earlham Cemetery, Norwich

I have the plot number Section 6NG, Grave 429 at Earlham Cemetery, Norwich of my great aunt. I spent over an  hour looking for it 18 months ago along with my sister. Going back for another visit very soon and would love to find it and read what is on the headstone. Was given plot number by Norwich Council.
I have tried Find a Grave but not listed. Anywhere else I should try for some help please. Much appreciated.
Born 1879 Malden, Essex and died in Norwich 1961.

Can anyone help me find out if Arthur Leggett Lincoln born 3/8/1909 had any children? Illegitimate son of Beatrice Alice Lincoln. He married and died in Luton (cannot find my paperwork at the moment).

Family History Beginners Board / Trying to find the death of Gladys Mace nee Lincoln born 1923

Hoping someone can find the death of a 2nd cousin. Gladys Lincoln was born in Norwich on 11/5/1923 to mother Florence ‘Florrie’ Lincoln.

Gladys married Ronald George Mace in Q2 1945 in Norwich. He died in Norwich in 14/10/81.

I cannot find a death for Gladys Mace in either ancestry or Freebmd. Also could someone check if they had any children together.

Family History Beginners Board / Wililiam and Elizabeth Lincoln missing from 1891 and 1901 census

Can’t seem to find William Lincoln and Elizabeth Lincoln in the 1891 and 1901 census. They married in Woodham Ferrers on 12/10/1872. William was 37 and Elizabeth 47 (her age varies).

Elizabeth was born in Suffolk and William in Purleigh.
They are together in 1881 census.
Think Elizabeth died 1908 in Woodham Ferrers. Cannot find William’s death.
