Lancashire Lookup Requests / Patrick/Winifred Hynes
« on: Thursday 25 March 21 08:52 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All,
Hope someone can help
Patrick Hynes married Winifred Fielding at St John the Evangelist Salford in 1858
(From lancsopc)
Their son Thomas was born 3December 1866 (also lancsopc and 1939 register)baptised St Joseph’s Ancoats
I cannot find his birth registration, I’ve tried all sorts of different spellings
I cannot find them on any census either, I’ve got Thomas on 1901 and 1911
Winifred died in Manchester royal infirmary in 1875 ( I have the certificate) she was 40 years old, wife of Patrick Hines, Labourer, so where are they?
Please can anyone help
Kind regards
Beannie

William McMillan Chalmers killed at the battle of Loos
He was born on 2 October 1888 in Drummore Scotland, the youngest son of the late Captain David Chalmers And Sarah McCracken. He was a marine Engineer and joined up at the start of the war. Two of his brothers Alexander and Thomas joined the navy. In a letter from Alexander (my 2x Greatgrandfather, he was on a minesweeper in the Irish Sea)in a letter to his daughter in 1918, he says "I've done away with a good few Germans, so avenged my brothers death". William was married to Harriett and lived in West Didsbury Manchester
He is commemorated on the Loos Memorial, Pas de Calais, France
Also on the War Memorail Drummore

Wicklow / Death late 1950's/early 60's
« on: Monday 30 October 17 21:19 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All
I am trying to find a death in Bray late 1950's early 60's for Patrick Finnegan.
He fell in the sea, I wanted to know if I can search deaths for that time frame anywhere and also check any free online newspapers, so if anyone can point me in the right direction, I'll be very grateful.
I did try a few newspapers but they were all pay to view.
I'm doing this for an elderly lady, it's her brother and she wants to know what happened to him, she seems to think that he drowned in the sea.
Kind regards

Lancashire / Calico printers
« on: Wednesday 11 October 17 09:28 BST (UK)  »
Hi All
Does anyone know if there are any directories of Calico printers from the 1820/30s in Manchester.
My 4th Great Grandfather's occupation on his marriage in 1832 was a Calico printer. I don't have much information on him as he died I think in 1836.
His name was Christopher Bentley
Here's hoping

James was 54 and a Hairdresser and Grace was 50, both born Kirkcudbright
Kind Regards
