Family History Beginners Board / James McMichael Michel Born 1727 Married to Agnes Barbour

I have been researching my 6X Great Grandfather James McMichael. I have found his birth day 1727 or 1730 and died 1814 from Scotland. He married Agnes Barbour (Barber) in 1752. They had 3 sons and 1 daughter. I have found quite a bit of info but no information on the parents of James, I have Agnes's parents names Patrick Barbour 1692 and Agnes Stirratt 1696. Does anyone have any information to help me fill in the blanks. I have found a christening record for one of James's sons in 1762 and his name is listed as James Michel. I know there are so many variations of the McMichael surname but I have hit a wall. Any help would be soooo appreciated.
