« on: Tuesday 07 January 14 21:29 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All

Am looking to see what happened to Harriett Ann Willis born 1865 in Polstead. She appears in the 1881 census as a servant to William Aggiss in Layham. Can find no record of her after this. Any help or thoughts appreciated.

London and Middlesex / Boilermakers in Southwark
« on: Thursday 03 May 12 19:32 BST (UK)  »
Hi All

I have many relations from the Southwark area in the latter park of the 19th century. Many are listed as Boilermakers. When I google Boilermakers in Southwark I find time and time again peoples trees with occupation listed as Boilermaker. Does anybody know where all these Boilermakers worked ? Was there a large factory in Southwark or several small ones ?
Any thoughts or ideas greatfully recived.

Essex / Osborne Marriage Sible Hedingham
« on: Sunday 22 February 09 17:32 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Everyone

I am trying to trace the marriage of my 3x Great Grandparents. They were William Osborne b. 1784 & Mary Green b. 1782.
They had at least five children born between 1806 & 1820. All the children were born in Sible Hedingham and William was in Sible Hedingham in 1841.
However I can find no sign of their marriage in the village.
Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Essex / Thomas Brewster , Writtle
« on: Sunday 06 April 08 17:28 BST (UK)  »
My 4x Great Grandfather was Thomas Brewster who was born in Writtle in 1774. I am looking for his parents and siblings. There is a great brewster presence in Writtle but as yet I can't tie them in. Would appreciate any thoughts.
Also the IGI has his marriage as 12th December 1797 to Mary Murdock but there is no mention of this in the Parish Record. Again any help greatfuly received.

Kent / Millington mystery
« on: Thursday 05 April 07 15:52 BST (UK)  »
My 3 x g grandparents were Frederick Gillham b.1811 Dartford Kent and Dinah Millington b.1815 Quebec North America, according to the census.
Dianh has her father living with them in 1861 Dartford. and he is a carpenter. Any one know how you would go about find why a carpenter born in Danbury Essex would have gone to Canada and had a daughter out there at such an early time. What is there I can look at to help me??
I am out of my depth with this one.
