Northamptonshire / Elizabeth Cook who married James Fox in Brixworth in 1708
« on: Wednesday 06 September 17 06:24 BST (UK)  »
I am back to 30 October 1708 marriage of Elizabeth Cook to James Fox at Brixworth.
Elizabeth has 8 children and dies in 1730. The burial has no age shown
Does anyone have any access to Memorials with Age data?

I can see a baptism for Eliz Cook 24 Jul 1691 Brixworth James, Catarine
Checking the baptism I think it was 13 Sep 1691 not July
But alas a burial of Elizab Cook 15 Sep 1691 Brixworth, Northamptonshire, England an infant.
I think it must be the child just baptised.
I can no other Elizabeth baptisms that might be the burial .

Neither can I see James Cook marriage to a Catharine or Kathrine c1690

Or in surrounding areas ...
Brixworth seems fairly well transcribed in that period

Thank you

I am searching my matrilineal line I am looking for Warren in Northamptonshire Scaldwell.
Sarah WARREN Spinster Scaldwell 2nd Daughter of George WARREN Baker
Marriage to John WADSWORTH Bachelor Groom abode B. Finedon Scaldwell Fellmonger
at St Peter and St Paul on 17 Nov 1765
Winesses William GILBERT Martha LANGLEY - 3rd witness John Webb is a church person signing all certs on that page

Looks like the father George dies in 1808 at 84 so born c1724.
I presume his son George is a marriage in 1755 and I assume this George is the fellmonger also found
But I cannot find any Warren's before 1755
or a marriage for the father
with at least son George, a daughter and then Sarah.
I have looked around Northants and beyond
There is also a Wm Warren master of local school

But c1755 they seem to be a firm Scaldwell family. So why cannot I find earlier

Somerset / LANCHISHEAR in Lovington Somerset
« on: Friday 18 March 11 06:40 GMT (UK)  »
On new familysearch I just found

Elizabeth Lanchishear
burial: 12 Sep 1725 (and also ( Sep 1725)— Lovington, Somerset, England
parents: William Lanchishear
There are some records in Kilmington some 13 miles away.

Otherwise that is all I can find - I've tried for William and indeed the search engine looks for various spellings Lancashire, Lankesheer, Lankshear.

I am a LANKSHEAR and I trace back to 1713 Robert LANCHISHEAR marriage in Clanfield Oxfordshire.

Perhaps same spelling in Somerset indicates origin around there.

Does anyone have access to Lovington and Castle Cary records.
Thank you

The new Family Search web includes some entries for Woodworth in Stowe.
Henrye Wodworth marriage to Jonne Webe 18 May 1600
baptism Thomas Woddworth  27 Oct 1605 father:    Henry Woddworth mother:    Jonne
baptism Walter Woodworthe 28 Jun 1608 father:   Henrye Woodworthe mother:   Jonne
and also marriage Richard Wodworth to Marie Snelston 10 May 1618

I would love to know if any more data is available for those folk.
Especially Walter - is he mentioned at all in other events in Stowe.

Does anyone have access to STOWE and are there any other records in early years of 1600s for Woodworth various spellings
Thank You

Warwickshire / Chilvers Coton records for 1790s
« on: Tuesday 28 July 09 05:03 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for a George and Mary SHAW who have a John baptised in Banbury in 1800. George is shown as a Boat-builder.

Someone told me about a record on IGI

George SHAW/ Mary Calaway 26 Sep 1790 Chilvers Coton, Warwickshire.

and that there is a baptism to presumably to this George and Mary of
George 01 Aug 1796 (age at Christening: 4)

It would be great to know if George at marriage or baptism of son George is shown as a boat builder. We are assuming he moved along the canal/river building boats.

There are also George SHAW marriages at Chilvers in 1785 and 1815 and perhaps same man.
Interesting that Geoge junior is shown as age 4 as it is likely the John at Banbury was also around 4 when baptised as he marries in 1815 well at least first child is 1816
Thank You

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / Marriage St John Coventry 1815
« on: Tuesday 28 July 09 03:21 BST (UK)  »
IGI has

John SHAW/ Elizabeth LEE 30 April 1815 St John, Coventry, Warwickshire.

I am looking for a marriage around then for John and Elizabeth who baptise a daughter Elizabeth at Banbury in 1816.
My John was a leather dresser and I wonder if the marriage detail shows occupation

I do not see any Baptism on IGI at St John for children of John and Elizabeth so perhaps this is the couple that were at Banbury

Oxfordshire / Thomas DAWSON in Northmoor 1600s
« on: Saturday 25 April 09 08:32 BST (UK)  »
Thomas DAWSON and Mary appear in Northmoor in the baptisms with their first child on 4 Dec 1687 Elizabeth - 10 children with last in 1705.
Then they both die on 17 Apr 1718 - ages are not shown in Northmoor burials.

Northmoor registers only start 1653 and there is a Thomas b1654 in Northmoor who is married to Anne and their first is 6 Jan 1671 Mary - Anne dies 1714 and Thomas 18 Apr 1718 yes day after the other Thomas and Mary. He is known as senior and the other as junior.

What I would like to is a marriage for either Thomas
to Anne around 1670
and to Mary around 1687
and a baptism for Thomas junior - IGI has a guess of 1666

Thomas senior I think is a great uncle and I'd like to see if Thomas junior is in the family.
I've scanned the CD of Northmoor but the index looks correct.

The Common Room / Do you know this Club or any of the people - many people c1930
« on: Monday 20 April 09 01:07 BST (UK)  »
c1930 A very large number of people - perhaps someone you knew

My mother Daisy Louise EAGLE is in near middle of front row sitting on the grass - no hat. To her right a woman in a white "beret" who could be May OGDEN - behind a woman in dark hat with hand on hat. Does anyone know anything about any of  the people - the place etc - it could be somewhere in West London unless they were visiting but it would be several coach parties. Of course could be one lot visiting and others are the members - Mum and May and others have coats on whereas others are in sport clothes.

One opinion was Civil Service  Sports Club at Chiswick but I aked them and they said No. I used to play tennis there in 1960s and I can see a girl on right with a racquet

It is one of those very long pictures and has been rolled hence cracks at the ends. I used Irfanview Panorama feature to join two scans - I expect you can see the join.
