Clackmannanshire / Michael Devlin

Hi all
I wonder if anyone would know the local newpaper in Alloa/Clackmannan area, which would be around in WW1 as my great uncle may have been featured in it.  Have searched the net but like looking for a needle in a haystack.

I dont know if I am in the correct area of Rootschat but I am looking for a website to give me a list of British POWs.  My great uncle died in Poland and I wondered if he was in a camp at the time.
Many thanks

Australia / Siddle
« on: Sunday 28 October 07 20:50 GMT (UK)  »
I wonder if anyone can help me with an Australian Rootschat or ancestry site.  I am looking for the offspring of Vivian Hector Siddle.  I don't know his wife's name, but know she died in childbirth.  He was in Australia between 1919 and 1930 where he married.  After the death of his wife, he left the baby with in-laws and came back to Britain, Tyneside I think.  If I could have sight of the marriage certificate it would be a great help.

Would anyone know anything of White Lee Toll House Inn, which would be around 1853 in Bellingham.  A Robert Minto was innkeeper there.

Looking for George Telfer Minto in the Northumberland district, born 1853.  Also as I am in Scotland, how do I get into the official English records?

Aberdeenshire / Chrysal Family
« on: Sunday 17 June 07 16:14 BST (UK)  »
I wonder if anyone can help me trace the Chrystal family in the Aberdeenshire area around 1840.  I did find a family living in High Street New Pitsligo, but not them.
The family I am looking for may have had a shipping company so would live on an estate.  I believe my GGGrandmother may have been a servent there.

Lanarkshire / Belfort Street Maryhill
« on: Saturday 19 August 06 22:31 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone answer as to why a street can suddenly disappear.  My Great-grandparents lived there in the 1901 census but I can't find where it is.  I have looked up the post offices list of chaged names and it is nowhere to b found.  I get the same result with the old maps.  Belfort street just ceased to exist with no explaination.
