Warwickshire / Edward Price
« on: Monday 23 July 07 20:40 BST (UK)  »
Im after any information that anyone has on Edward Price born 1789 in Llangwm, Merionethshire
He was a Calvinistic Minister who built a church in 1841 in Birmingham
It is said that he was the founder of the Welsh Calvinistic cause in Birmingahm
Im wondering if this is the same Welsh Calvinistic church that was in Wood Street Bath Row
he was ordained as minister there in 1848 and left the area to move back to Wales in 1854
further information was that he was a Blacksmith by trade and would have had his family with him whilst he was in the Birmingham Area

Thanks for any ino in advance

Cork / Allen Family of Cork
« on: Sunday 20 August 06 13:14 BST (UK)  »
I have a problem trying to locate any details regarding my Allen family
I have only recently known of their existence by researching my mothers side of the family tree
The Earliest member of the family I can find is from the 1881 Census of Walmgate in York City where Anthony Allen  born Circa 1845 occupation Hawker is shown as being resident at 10 Barker Hill Court, St Maurice, Walmgate, York lodging in the household of a James Hood who may be his Brother in Law.
Anthony is shown on the Census with his wife Julia Allen (possible maiden name Kelley) they both have given their place of Birth as Cork Ireland but no specific area has been given. also resident are their two children Sarah Allen aged 9 born in York and Anthony Allen aged 2 born in Leeds.
I have tried to search the Griffith Valuations for Cork and have found only 3 Anthony Allens all from Toormore, Kilmoe, Carberry West, Cork, I'm not even certain they are part of the same family. the only further information I have on my Anthony who is my 2nd Great Grandfather is that he was a Roman Catholic.
Any further information relating to him would be greatly appreciated as I am finding it extremely difficult trying to even start searching the Irish record

Thanks in advance

I seem to be having a problem with my research, I have purchased the Marriage certificate of my 3rd Great Grandfather, Thomas Owens (Blacksmith) giving his father as Owen Owens (Blacksmith), on the 1851 census he gives his place of birth as Llanelidan but on the 1871 census he gives his place of birth as Llandderfel.
My problem is concerning his parents, I have located them on the 1851 census in the township of Llanelidan in a place called  bryncyme, His parents are named as Owen and Gwen both born in Llandderfel. both living at Rhewl Smithy I cannot find any baptism records for either of them.
I have already purchased all copies of the Llandderfel parish registers and I think I have located the marriage of Gwen and Owen in 1813, but I cannot locate the baptism or birth records for Thomas or Owen  born 1814 & 1819 respectively.
Im wondering if anyone else has anymore advice where to look or have any further information for me
If someone could look at the Llanelidan parish registers for me for Thomas Owens (b.1814) and Owen Owens (b.1819) there is a posibility that the family home Rhewl Smithy lies within the Llandegla border but of this im not sure

regards
