Hello everyone,
Looking for a bit of advice please?
I have an address in Workington and want to find out who lived there in the early 1970s.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
Thank you.

Pembrokeshire / Clydey book
« on: Tuesday 16 November 21 17:53 GMT (UK)  »
I have book called 'A Century of Local Lives in the Parish of Clydey' 1900 to 2000.
I'm told there was a sequel/second volume. Can anyone help me with the name and any other details of it please? I'd like to try to find it as my Grandfather was born in Clydey and my 91 year old mother knew the area well.
Many thanks.

The Common Room / Mayflower Descendants
« on: Sunday 01 December 19 10:52 GMT (UK)  »
I watched a programme last week about the Mayflower (one of Rob Bell's documentaries) and they said one of the passengers John Howland had almost drowned but had been rescued at the last minute.

They said that if he had died in the incident the World would have been very different because there are 2.5 million Americans alive today who are descended from John and his wife.

His descendants have included the Bush family, some of the Roosevelts, Humphrey Bogart and the Baldwins.

He and his wife had 10 children and 80 grandchildren.

I found it really interesting - it really made me think how things can change in an instant.

Glamorganshire / Prince of Wales Road, Swansea house collapse 1950
« on: Friday 28 December 18 16:01 GMT (UK)  »
Interesting and sad piece from the South Wales Evening Post this week regarding the collapse of houses into the Strand and the deaths of seven people. I wonder whether it was family who left the memorial.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Identify Location?
« on: Wednesday 28 February 18 14:34 GMT (UK)  »
I know it's a long shot, but I was wondering whether anyone would recognise this location please?

The photo is of my Great Uncle Harold who was a Stonemason and was known for dressing very smartly.

Harold was born about 1913 and died in 1980, living all his life in Carmarthenshire.

My father says the photo is unlikely to have been taken abroad.

This building is in line for demolition but is currently being considered for listing by Cadw.

If anyone can help support this by e-mailing cadw@wales.gsi.gov.uk with any historical evidence we would be very grateful.

Thank you.

Many thanks,

« on: Friday 09 May 14 14:22 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to trace a Gunner from World War 2 and have a postcard he sent with the address 275/121 Medium Battery, Royal Artillery, B.L.A.

Can anyone explain the numbers please as I can find 121 Medium Regiment but am confused about 275/121?

Thank you.
