Just received this photo from one of my American Cousins, it is the only one I have ever seen of My Maternal Grandfather from WW1 era.

I know it is in a terrible state, but could one of our resident experts please try to recover/restore it?

P.S.
I have been telling everyone that  he was in the Machinegun Corps (as well as Lanc's Kings), this photo proves it.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Thomas HIGHTON Bn C1793-98, Liverpool?
« on: Sunday 10 October 10 02:21 BST (UK)  »
Thomas HIGHTON Bn C1793-98 (Possible in Liverpool) was married to an Elizabeth (name Unknown).

As far as I know their children were:

Thomas Born C1820, Liverpool, Baptised: 31st December 1820, St Peter, Liverpool

William  Born C1828, Liverpool, Baptised: 19th June 1828, St Peter, Liverpool

I found Thomas Snr on Williams Marriage cert listed as Father of Groom (16th April 1854, St Peters, Parish Church of Liverpool).

Then, searched the IGI & found the Baptisms of  Thomas Jnr & William, which both state 'Father: Thomas HIGHTON & Mother: Elizabeth HIGHTON'.

On the 1871 Census Elizabeth HIGHTON is listed as a 70Yr old Widowed GrandMother of Mary HIGHTON 13Yrs old (Williams Daughter).

On freeBDM I found 2 possible Death Records for Thomas HIGHTON snr C1854 to 1871, Liverpool:

1. September Qtr 1854,  Liverpool 8b 82.

2. March Qtr 1865,  Liverpool 8b 245

Can anyone help Me find out:

1. Where Thomas & Elizabeth Married?

2. Where/When was Thomas Born?

3. Where/When was Thomas jnr Married (on Census his wife is stated as Bridget, Born C1823, Ireland)?

Any Help Will be Greatfully Received!

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Webster/Dickinson Prescot, Huyton & West Derby
« on: Tuesday 07 September 10 17:50 BST (UK)  »
Some Years ago I managed to get all the census records (1841-1891) for My Webster/Dickinson Ancestors, below is an extract from the 1841 Census:

HO107/520/9. Folio 21

Knotty Ash, West Derby

John WEBSTER, 25Yrs old, Wheelwright
Sarah WEBSTER, 25Yrs old.
Elizabeth WEBSTER, 2Yrs old.
Thomas WEBSTER, 2Mths old
Sarah DICKINSON, 70Yrs old, of Independant Means
Mary BROWN, 5Yrs old.

All 'Born in County'

I know John WEBSTER married Sarah DICKINSON at St Nicholas, Liverpool on 4th June 1837.

Also, Sarah was previously married to a Mr BROWN (?)

From 1841 to 1891 Sarah WEBSTER (nee DICKINSON) gave Her age as 25Yrs, 35Yrs, 45Yrs, 64Yrs, 70Yrs & 84Yrs old ( which makes my search for Her Birth/Baptism C1807 to 1816).

Elizabeth (Bn C1839) was Born in West Derby as was Thomas (Bn 10:00pm, 8th April 1841 at Knotty Ash)

I cant find anything prior to the 1841 Census, John & Sarahs Marriage or the birth of Thomas (who must have had a Twin who did'nt survive).

I have decided it is time to 'Blow the Dust' of My old WEBSTER/DICKINSON Research notes & try to find more about them!

Any Help will be Most Greatfully Received! ::) ;)

The Lighter Side / Missing/Removed Threads
« on: Saturday 01 May 10 20:37 BST (UK)  »
I can't find My (or other posters) threads containing Photos/Postcards of Liverpool?

Last week I was asked by the Rootschat Copyright Editor If I held the copyrights (or had permission from the copyright holders) to post My Images!

I confirmed that this was the case!

Now, when I come online I find that All these Threads have been Deleted!

What is the Use of asking If we have the right to post Images then Ignoring the Answer & Deleting the threads? >:( :(
