Kildare / Eliza Spooner (nee Jones) b. abt 1813 - died bet 1901 and 1911
« on: Tuesday 15 May 12 20:15 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find out when the above died. She is last listed living with her Daughter and Son-in-Law Harriet and James Dunne in Inch, Birtown, Kildare.  But I cannot find out her date of death. She was listed as being 86 on the census.

I also cannot find the date of death  for her daughter Harriett, although she does appear in the 1911 census in the same house.

Midlothian / Janet Torbet (nee Allan)
« on: Tuesday 28 February 12 16:28 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find out what happened to the above, my 3rd GreatGrandmother (father Andrew Allan).  She was born 25 Jul 1800 and married Adam Torbet in Edinburgh on 16 Jun 1820.  I found them together in the various census until Adam went to live in Ireland in 1851.  I cannot find out what happened to Janet, no records of death in Ireland) and I'm wondering if they might have divorced or otherwise.

Can  anyone shed any light on this?

I am trying to establish a possible link to the Nicholas Peppard who is buried in St James' Graveyard, James St.  His inscription is as follows:

PEPPARD

Can anyone throw any light on Nicholas.

Dublin / Mary Jane Pepper, b 1869 11 LR BRIDGE ST, Dublin
« on: Saturday 26 November 11 15:44 GMT (UK)  »
My ggrandaunt Mary Jane was born to John Pepper/Peppard and Harriet Sophia Jones on 8 Oct 1869.  All of their other children were born both before and after that date, in the Baltinglass area o the Carlow/Wicklow border.  I'm trying to find out why they would have been in Dublin at that time. I have a suspicion that the Pepper/Peppard family might have come from Dublin a generation or two previously and that this might be the reason.

Does this link in with anyone's family?

Also, would anyone be able to tell me anything about the address above, i.e type of dwelling (I assume it was a tenement building but it would be nice to confirm)

Armed Forces / Irish Regiments in Newfoundland
« on: Monday 31 October 11 15:51 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
I am trying to find out if any Regiment that was stationed in Kildare, Ireland during 1820/30's served in Newfoundland, Canada and returned to Ireland around 1858.  Birthsof James Hoey to William and Mary Hoey in 1858 states that Joseph was born in Newfoundland.  William and Mary were originally married in Kildare in the 1820's, so I suspect that he was a serving soldier.
