Lancashire / Wincote Victoria Park Rusholme
« on: Saturday 20 January 07 16:09 GMT (UK)  »
My grandmother died Jan. 14, 1922 at a place on her death certificate called Wincote. My search so far has not revealed if this was a nursing home, hospital, clinic, or anything.
The doctor who pronounced her was Dr. J. Cryer.
This also could have been a private home where she worked as a servant.
Any thoughts.
Thank you.

Family History Beginners Board / re George & Mary Ann Cleveley
« on: Sunday 14 January 07 17:27 GMT (UK)  »
Last week SKS looked up a family with the above name for 1881 & 1901 census years.
Subsequently I was given the census 1871, 1861 for them and in looking more closely this is the wrong family, perhaps, cousins.

Our family George dob 1853, Mary A dob1852, George, son 1874, William, son 1876, Lucy 1878, Eliza (Elizabeth)1879,
Emily 1881, John Edward, 1883,  Albert(Alfred)1885,Herbert,1887.

I would sincerely appreciate another lookup.  Thank you.

Family History Beginners Board / Re Cleveley family census lookup lost
« on: Wednesday 10 January 07 20:42 GMT (UK)  »
A kind person gave me information on the Cleveley family from Powick listing 11841, 1871, 1891 & 1901 census results.

I seem to have misplaced or deleted this original information and I have omitted a name and need to clarify this.

I was hoping someone could tell me how to access her reply she sent  over the weekend or even can you do this.

Many thanks.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Cleveley, Elizabeth (Eliza)
« on: Saturday 16 December 06 23:10 GMT (UK)  »
We are seeking where our grandmother Eliza Cleveley who died at 42 yrs of age at Wincote, Victoria Park Jan. 14, 1922 is buried.  Checked the NBI and nothing; checked at Southern Cemetery nothing;
We do not know if Wincote was a nursing home or a priv. home where she would be employed.  A Dr. Cryer pronounced her and we wondered if she would have been a coroner case; without means would her body been given to science?
Any thoughts to help us would be appreciated. :)

Would anyone know of "Spring Cottage" and if so who were
the people living there in 1919 particularly the servants. Could you pinpoint its exact location or if in rural area name farms or cottages on either side.  A map would be great if not too much trouble.
