World War One / Can I find the address/next of kin of WW1 medal holder
« on: Friday 08 January 21 10:56 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

Can anyone help solve a problem.

About 70 years ago my late Mother bought a pair of what I believe are called V&C medals for a man who served in the Royal Engineers in 1914.

I’d love to know more about this man - where he came from, his next of kin (he survived) or anything which might identify where he came from.

Am I really asking the impossible?

Thanks

London and Middlesex / baby girl born 28 Dec 1940 in Dagenham
« on: Sunday 02 June 19 14:45 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Living in Dublin, I'm not familiar with what sources are available online, but have an urgent request on behalf of a friend..... can anyone help.

What would be the fastest route to finding out what became of a baby girl born 28 Dec 1940 in Dagenham?  The girl was born to a married parents who reared her, but are both now dead.  Apparently a marriage record hasn't been found.

I'm aware we are not allowed post names of living people, so I've not mentioned any identifying names on purpose.

Can anyone assist.

Thanks in advance

London and Middlesex / Any online records for Dagenham around 1939
« on: Tuesday 16 April 19 17:56 BST (UK)  »
Hi all

New to English records, so don't know what is available online.

Searching (on behalf of a friend) for a long dead couple, who it is believed were living in the  Dagenham area from 1939.

Are any UK records for that time period online and free?   Is there an Electoral Roll, Graveyard Inscriptions, or any link that might give a lead?  All help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Tipperary / 1911 Census - 652 errors in Birdhill DED??
« on: Saturday 23 February 19 09:00 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

Been searching 1911 Census for relatives in Birdhill, Co Tipperary but couldn't find the place.  Played around and eventually found ALL 652 entries show the DED as 'Birohill'

Makes searching very difficult.

England / William Charles Bonehill born Sept 1882 Dudley
« on: Monday 17 September 18 12:39 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Can anyone help as I'm not familiar with what UK records are available online.

Found the Sept 1882 birth of a William Charles Bonehill in Dudley in the Freebmd website but need to know were his parents Thomas and Mary.  Also, is there any further information on this couple.

In my family, I have a William Bonhill (sic) living in Limerick, Ireland, but who was born in the UK around that time, to parents Thomas and Mary.

Any assistance would be wonderful.

Regards
