Hi,

Looking for details of a marraige entry on Ancestry as follows;

There are two entries.  I've tracked the other Hampshire one, but would like details of this one please.

Many thanks,

Thanks!

I've tried several times over the years to find my G Grandparents on the 1891, to no avail.  I now concede defeat & offer a challenge to the supersleuths on Rootschat to track 'em down!!

George Alfred WINTER b 24 Jan 1864 ROTHERHITHE SURREY

& his wife

Harriet ABBOTT  b 18 Sep 1866  PENGE  SURREY

The couple married 15 Mar 1890 in Rotherhithe, both give residence as 39 Winchester St, George's Occ BAKER.

In 1892 their first daughter was born at 15 King Arthur St PECKHAM.  George's Occ Service Layer at Gasworks.

I have the family pre 1891 & after.  The 1891 is the missing part.

If anyone finds them, then I'll be off to Specsavers in the morning for new glasses as I've obviously overlooked them ...again!!

« on: Saturday 22 March 08 15:30 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone point me to online PR's for South Stoneham please?  Failing that, does anyone have them on fiche or cd & would be willing to look up a baptism for me?

I'm looking for further info on the baptism of;

Charity CHALK  bapt 12 Apr 1795 South Stoneham

I'd like to confirm her parents (believed to be John Chalk & Mary )

Many thanks,

Debbie

Having recently been re-acquainted with a good old fashioned hot water bottle, (& wondering how I've ever coped without it!!!)  I was wondering which other items from the past are still used reguarly by Rootschatters?

The Common Room / Advice on Parish record Cd's please
« on: Thursday 22 November 07 12:08 GMT (UK)  »
I'm considering buying the cd's that contain Leicestshire Parish Records, but I'm not sure how much information they'll contain as opposed to going to the records office & viewing the Pr's myself.  I'm only considering purchasing them as I'm too far from Leicester to just pop along there for the day, but I have loads of entries to check.

So, can someone advise me please, do the cd's contain images of the PR's & are they worth the money?  Also, can anyone recommend a good website to purchase from.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks,  Debbie

Dear All,

Please would someone be able to make a cameo of the young girl at the front of this picture please?  It's my paternal Grandmother, who died before I was born :(  I don't have any photographs of her alone.

I hope the quality is ok & I've resized it correctly  :-\

Thanks,

Debbie

Hi all,

This picture has puzzled me for years.  My father told me it was cousins in Ireland.  Well, after 7 or 8 years or research, I haven't found a hint of anyone Irish!!  However, I have found ancestors who ventured across to Canada & wondered if this could've been taken there?  I've no idea when either, so any ideas would be most welcome.  I THINK I know who one of the gentlemen was, but not entirely sure.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight / Family History Event 3rd/4th Nov Southampton
« on: Wednesday 31 October 07 21:25 GMT (UK)  »
As a Southampton City Council employee, I receive a newsletter into my work email every few days.  Today an event was listed, which I tried to email home, but the work email system has chosen not to forward it on, but here is what I remember;

4th & 5th 3rd & 4th November 12 - 4pm at the Hawthorns Centre on the Common.  Information on researching family history in Southampton & info on the Old Cemetery on the Common.

I tried to find a link on the Southampton website, but nothing I'm afraid. * see below
