London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Joe and Dora Weinthrop
« on: Saturday 13 June 09 15:54 BST (UK)  »
Please can someone do a look up for me.... Joe and Dora Weinthrop, possibly Mile End Old Town or near. Children Monty(Marks) and David. I want to know what town Joe was born in. I know it was in Poland/Russia, circa 1877. Could it have been Radom?

If you have rellies with London or Birmingham links to the Gunmakers trade, please see my posting in London Resources. It lists many gun lock filers, journeymen, etc.

It would be nice to hear if this helps anyone.

Most immigrants had their names changed upon arrival in England, so I thought, how about starting a list of original surnames and the area and country of birth.

Mine is  the family WINOGRON ( Grapes ) from Plock in Poland arriving circa 1890 in London.

Name changed to Weinthrop, Wintrop, Weintraub, Weintrop.
