Berwickshire / Rutherford death at Coldstream
« on: Thursday 04 March 10 22:19 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All

Can anyone help me find more information regarding the Rev John Rutherford.
He was living in Swalwell, County Durham and during the years 1778 to at least 1790 his church was Ebeneezer or Ryton Woodside-Presbyterian, Swalwell.

I know that he was married to Mary and I found his death included in the 1807 Monthly Magazine  and British Register , Volume 23 which includes facts relative to eminent or remarkable characters recently deceased.

'Died: At Coldstream, the Rev John Rutherford, formerly a protestant dissenting minister at Swalwell, 59'

I'm assuming that he died in 1807 age 59

Any ideas or suggestions will be most welcome.

Cumberland / Richardson of Stapleton
« on: Friday 09 October 09 13:44 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I'm looking for a William and Mary Richardson who were living in the Stapleton area around 1774.
Stapleton is given as the place of birth of Thomas, one of their sons, born 1774

Another son Richard, born around 1778 was possibly born at Brackenhill nr Longtown (origiinally owned by the Graham family).

The Graham's and Richardson's have strong connections and I'm wondering if the above named Mary Richardson was a Graham before marriage.

I have found the family's  MI on a headstone at St Mary's Walton which is badly weathered and difficult to decipher.

Erected in the  memory of William Richardson of ?? who died ???? aged 92 years also of Mary his wife who died December 12 aged 18?8 aged 87? years
Also Richard their son who died ?? 2nd 1821 aged 43 years  also Thomas son of above Richard Richardson who died 20th September 1844 aged 24 years also Mary wife of the above Richard Richardson who died at Wetheral 22nd December 1871 aged 87 years.

Any information regarding William and Mary would be appreciated.

« on: Sunday 13 September 09 11:34 BST (UK)  »
I'm looking for any information regarding Stephen Chisman who was living in the Swalwell or Whickham area in 1780

I have found a  christening for his daughter Ann at Ebeneezer or Ryton Woodside, February 1780, parents Stephen Chisman and Margaret.

According to the IGI there is a family of Chisman living in Lanchester in the 1700's and I have details of another Chisman family living in the Hexham area but I can find no possible birth or marriage for Stephen.

Can anyone help?

Cumberland / LITTLE Family of Blackpool Gate Bewcastle
« on: Wednesday 27 August 08 14:49 BST (UK)  »

Andrew Little, born around 1875 Kirkandrews, was living at Blackpool gate Bewcastle working as a blacksmith. He had two daughters that I know of Margaret b 1791 and Elizabeth b 1793 both christened at Arthuret.

Kirkandrews MI states that daughter Margaret died in 1821 and wife Jane in 1849

Included in his household in 1851 are Jane Little, his grandson's wife and great granddaughters Margaret and  Isabella.

I believe the above grandson's wife Jane Little to be the wife of Andrew Little born around 1822 Bewcastle but I have been unable to find his birth or parents. I suspect he could be the son of  either Margaret or Elizabeth, father unknown.

I have a marriage cert for Jane Little born 1852, who married Thomas Richardson in the Parish church of Brampton in 1873. Father's name on the cert is Andrew Little, a husbandman.

If anyone is researching this family or indeed the family of Thomas Richardson please make contact.
