Hi, I bought a Victorian photo album a few years ago, it appears to have belonged to a family with the names Wharram, Clarke and Stork. A few have the names written on this one just says Granny and Grandad Wharram. I am hoping someone can help with a date for the attached photo and perhaps a guess at the ages of the adults.

Many thanks in advance. :)

Stirlingshire / Mackay birth at Stronach House, Gartmore, in 1924
« on: Friday 22 August 14 10:37 BST (UK)  »
I have a copy of my friends fathers birth certificate, he was born illigitimate on 21/5/1924 at Stronach House, Gartmore, Parish of Menteith, County of Perth..... (I wasn't sure if this should have been on the Perth board or not?)

We know his mother was a Mary Mackay whose residence at that time was Onslow Drive, Dennistoun, Glasgow.  The query is, has anyone heard of Stronach House....and was it some sort of mother/baby home that she was perhaps sent to.

We can find nothing on google but hoping someone on Roots can help. :)

Many thanks in advance.

I have John Thomson died 17/04/1856 aged 55 at Back Casey, Kirkintilloch, married to Agnes Scott. The death Cert states he was buried in Old Churchyard. Does anyone have acces to these MI's and could you have a look and see if there is anything for either of them please.

Many thanks.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / I'm looking for dates please
« on: Wednesday 06 February 13 14:20 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

These are my latest buys and I haven't got a clue on dates. First one is much clearer in 'real life' the black blob hiding her feet and legs is a brolly.

The third one looks like it has been in a case...alas no longer but there is glass covering the whole thing.

Also are they ambrotypes, I can never tell!

Many thanks

Terry

Oh! they are all much clearer than they have come out on here.
