I often wonder about the vicars on wedding certificates is his family looking at his tree - so I thought I would list some of the names and where they practised to see if anyone would claim them - alternatively if you have a vicar in your family put down where and when he practised or put down some of the vicars on your family tree.

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / Hately Family

Please help
I am trying to find the marriage of James Doyle and Emma Hately, James was born in 1825 Dublin and the first born child Rebecca, I have found for these two was born 12th April 1854.  I have also found the birth certificate for her sister which gives the mother's name as Isabella Hately is this a sister or could it be Emma Isabella?  I also noticed on the younger sister's James signs his name J Doyle rather than put his mark he is carman and on Rebecca's he is a bootmaker.  Could it be a different couple it's Rebecca's I am more interested in.

Family History Beginners Board / Recording living relatives
« on: Sunday 16 September 07 13:22 BST (UK)  »
I've heard one of the best things I can do is talk to living relatives - (I see you even have something on roots for that) but I am not sure how to use let alone elderly relatives one who doesn't have the net anyway.

I was thinking about writing a letter and sending a blank cassette, should it be a general Tell me about your life and family or more specific?

Family History Beginners Board / Getting Records
« on: Tuesday 07 August 07 23:41 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

My 3g grandmother Sarah Rees was a patient in the Joint lunatic asylum in 1881 - I was wondering if it might be possible to get records who would I write to, how much would I have to pay? etc

Thanks in advance for your help.

Whilst researching the Rees family, I came across John and Elizabeth C (Clara) staying with their Uncle - Thomas Pitt.  Research further into Thomas makes it look like his name may have been transcribed into Pill - which looks like the same transcription on Sarah's; John and Elizabeth's mother's wedding certificate but only her dad John's name has been transcribed this way.

So I would be very interested in finding out who had offered this alternative name and whether or not this is the same Thomas.

Thanks in advance.

The Common Room / 2 Birth Records.

Why have I got 2 birth records in my tree?  When all I want to do is show a time line made up of census.  How can I seperate so it shows residences 10 years apart rather than being clumped together.
