London and Middlesex / Newspaper Report for John Copeland
« on: Wednesday 29 December 21 23:59 GMT (UK)  »
My Great Grandfather John Copeland died 20 January 1913 at Cremorne Wharf, Lots Road, Chelsea. I assume he died while out walking as this location is close to his home in Tadema Road, Chelsea. His death Certificate says the cause of death is "Dilatation of the Heart" and "Syncope" which I think means he suffered a heart attack.  That's him in my Avitar.  :)

I was wondering if the event was reported in any local newspapers at the time, and if someone could look it up for me. Thanks.

Australia / VIC Birth, Marriages & Deaths
« on: Friday 15 October 21 04:07 BST (UK)  »
While I can search Births and Deaths, the Marriage search results (well withing the period allowed) comes up with:-
"Your search did not produce any results. Please refine your search and try again"

Is anyone else having the same problem?

I even tried a search that I've found in the past for a marriage in 1920 with the same result.

Australia / What's happened with VIC Births Deaths Marriages Family Search?
« on: Sunday 21 April 19 01:50 BST (UK)  »
The Web site now defaults to a registration page with an email/user and password.

And a few attempts this morning the screen hangs.  Is it closed for Easter?  Or is it me?

Australia / Looking for Arrival for John Richard BICKNELL
« on: Monday 26 March 18 01:49 BST (UK)  »
John Richard Bicknell married Caroline Pullen in 1855 in England and had a child Alice Bicknell in 1856 born near Brighton England.  All three came to Australia and their second child George Bicknell was born in 1858 in Brighton, Melbourne, Victoria (what a coincidence).

I cannot find how, what ship or exactly how and when they arrived in Australia.

I have all the other information I need on the family, further children births, marriages and deaths, everything, BUT my "Brick Wall" is just exactly when and how did they arrived in Australia.

Thanks, Red

Australia / Victoria Electoral Roll
« on: Friday 22 January 16 00:48 GMT (UK)  »
Is there a way of finding out who lived in an address [55 Riviera Street Mentone, Melbourne] between 1940 and 1950.  I'm not even sure if the address was a vacant block of land or a house was built during that time.  I already have a title search for that period of time and I know the owners mentioned on the title lived elsewhere.

Australia / Lillian Emma Elizabeth WHITEHEAD COMPLETED
« on: Tuesday 19 January 16 22:55 GMT (UK)  »
Did Lillian Emma Elizabeth Whitehead (nee Town) born 1901 in Richmond Victoria remarry?

I have her birth and marriage to Ernest Bert Whitehead, but cannot find a death for her.  Between 1940 and 1948 she was living in Warburton, Vic with Ernest Whitehead.  I have his death in 1973. So I'm assuming if she remarried (although divorce is also a possibility) it would be after 1973.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Australia / Frederick William WOOD
« on: Tuesday 05 January 16 01:13 GMT (UK)  »
Looking for the elusive marriage of Frederick William WOOD who married Ethel Jane WYLLIE around 1908.  Was he really married at 18 years old?

I can't find anything on this couple and would like their birth, death & marriage dates, where they are buried? (believe around Moe, Victoria).  Also any information about any children they had. I know of one son Samuel Wilson Wood (I have all his details) and I'm told there were three girls.

Any help appreciated.

Australia / A**y has become our worst enemy
« on: Thursday 12 March 15 03:10 GMT (UK)  »
I have so many people on A**y who have lifted information from my tree and got it wrong, it's not funny.   >:(   >:(   Repeated requests for them to correct it, or prove their research have gone unanswered.

I just hope people are not copying the wrong information to their trees and citing this and that tree as a reference.  And now who's can trust my tree, or anyone else's, for that matter.

Feeling cheated  ::)  I asked for a refund and so far (10 days) I've had no reply.   >:(  >:(
