Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Date? Mourning?

Wondering if someone could date this for me? and i think its a mourning picture, but does anyone know why the children were not in black? and what she may be holding?

Scotland / Young family?

I have never had to search Scottish records before so i dont have a clue, i am trying to find a birth for a William Loney Young born abt 1923 died 1985 in Cornwall.

any help or pointer will be greatly apprieciated, i have tried scotlands people but am unable to purchase credits until 10th of September when i get payed.

Are there any freebmds or records for scotland?

Yorkshire (West Riding) / some helps with Bates of Sowerby Bridge

Hi

I have a Samuel Bates abt.1763 died 1812 richmond nr. leyburn. I have had a guess at his father who i think is John Bates abt. 1737 of Sowerby Bridge, and his father Samuel abt.1700 birth place unknown.

I really want to go back as far as possible with this line but really struggling the further back i go. (not many records available)

any information or help would be greatly appreciated.

Samuel Bates abt.1763 sons seem to be Gun makers/smiths however, i do not know if this is the same for Saml.

dont have much info other than what is here and Samuel Bates' family from 1800s onwards.

Europe / Bettembos history?

Hi

I am trying to find the history or origins of the town of Bettembos (80590) Somme or the name Bettembos.

As I have an ancestor Isaac De Bettembos abt.1635 who I presume by the name Isaac of Bettembos was from the town.

I have found loads on the area size and population etc. but nothing of the actual history.

Immigrants & Emigrants - General / before 1878

Does anyone know if there are any records on passenger coming into the uk before 1878?

I think my relative came in between 1873-1880 but there is no sign of him on the passenger list.

he is Oliver Evans abt 1873 born California (according to uk census). He was sent home as an infant and we dont know why, is living with his aunt, Ann Evans in 1881 census in Llanguicke, Wales.

I have received this photo off a family member who said the groom in the photo is Noah Potts 1886-1930, however, i do not think the picture is old enough to be his wedding which was in 1887 can anyone date it for me please as i may be able to work out who it could be.

Worcestershire Lookup Requests / Tromans/Trowmans of rowly regis?

I have found so many Tromans/Trowmans in one area I am having difficulty connecting the dots. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Thomas Trowmans abt. 1778 according to 1841 census he is not born in county of worcestershire, however, born in scotland, ireland or foreign parts is ticked on the census. He is married to Nancy Hackett (not 100% on surname).

Any help with this family will be something, I was hoping to find a connection to other Trowmans in the area, they mostly seem to be Jewish, but cannot connect them as of yet.
