Birth certificate bought in error.John Briscoe son of william and Susanna born Willenhall June 1841.
Death Certificates
John Briscoe 1884 Sedgley ,Staffs
John Briscoe 1885,Aston Birmingham.
Henry Taylor 1937,Kings norton Birmingham.

Sidney Jackson,son of Sarah Jackson of Hayle,born Phillack cornwall.MC Corps114632 ,enlisted in the DCLI 202750.Died 6th May 1918.No known grave but remembered on the Loos Addendum and Hayle memorial. Husbands great Uncle.

Family History Programs, Tree Organisation, Presentation / Changing my family history program

 :)Ideas please. I’ve come to the conclusion today that our computer which has has windows 10 and I’ve been running a 2009version of Family TreeMaker. But it’s really slow,so a change is needed,but I’m really not sure where to go.

Good evening everyone, our local BBC news program Spotlight has just had an article on about the above lad. He died in the Battle of Jutland on the HMS Southampton. His dead mans penny plaque was found at the tip in Dorchester and is at the museum. Currently they have not found any relatives. Anyone up to the challenge?

World War One / Dorothy Vlieland

Morning everyone, I am hoping someone may be able to guide me in the right direction. The church I belong to has Dorothy Vlieland on our war roll of honour. We know she was a nurse, however she died in Exeter in June 1917. I am wondering if she may have been evacuated back to a hospital locally from the Front. Is this likely.

The Lighter Side / Rather an exciting afternoon

We are currently ploughing gently through my father in law's things,as well as finding loads of info on my mother in laws Haymans . Today we found a photo of a soldier dated August 1917,it can only be one person , my husband's great uncle Sidney who was killed the following May! He looks so like my father in law ,it's amazing.

Cornwall / Are these your heros

Camborne Rugby Club are planning on remembering these men at a President's Dinner soon. The men are Captain William Blackwood who was a Dr.,Private E.Fletcher who as far as I can tell was a stretcher bearer and Sergeant J ( ?John) Phillips who was the referee at a match at the beginning of WW 1.I think the last one was connected to the school of mines. This hunt is for my daughter who helps coach the younger kids at the club. The Captain survived but,have'nt found the others as yet.

 :We are currently sorting out probate from my Father in law and had to sort through a tin last night. I now have his parent's marriage cert and several others,I was going to send for.Showed my brother in law the ones I had already and had to explain how there were none pre 1837. I'm really rather happy!
