« on: Saturday 10 November 12 11:53 GMT (UK)  »
Hi have another one whose left the shores of Britain for a better life. Can anyone help please ?

Catherine Tait born 26.2.1861 in Whitehaven Cumberland. (.Father William Tate)
She emmigrated in 1883 i believe and i always assumed she went direct to Canada as she was married in Ontario by 1885.
However have some new information to suspect she may have been sent to live with an uncle who was the governer of the the Gaol in New Orleans around these dates.
Can someone please have a little look see what pops up in searchs
Many thanks
Chris
