Nottinghamshire / Nixon brickwall
« on: Tuesday 10 September 13 20:11 BST (UK)  »
Hi Everyone, I am after information on Violet Annie Nixon, born 1876 Hickling Nottinghamshire. She married Albert edward Whitaker in 1896.
I am seeking her parents, hopefully someone can find these who have been elusive to me.
If I got her wedding certificate would it tell her parents names?
Thanks in advance

Nottinghamshire / Nixon brick wall

Hi Listers
could some person help with my longstanding brick wall? i am looking for baptism and parents of Violet Annie Nixon who was born in 1876 in Hickling, Nottinghamshire.
She married Albert Edward Whitaker in 1896 and went to live at Rutland Terrace, The meadows, Nottingham.
These are the only details I have after searching on Ancestry and Find my past. I wish to find her parents so that I can fill this gap in my tree.
Thanks in advance

Also where can I get more information on his (or anyone elses) records.
Thanks for any help

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Resources in Yorkshire
« on: Sunday 28 February 10 17:16 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all
My GG Grandfather (Samuel Gibbons Whitaker b. 1846) originated from West Riding, Yorkshire.
Where can I get information on his parents etc as I live in Nottingham not knowing that part of the world.
He married Jane Richards b. 1851 where they set up home in Cotgrave, Nottingham.
He was a Iron Moulder in Yorkshire - travelled and lodged for work.
Any help on info or if some kind person could do a look up, I would be most grateful.
Cheers

Family History Programs, Tree Organisation, Presentation / Family tree online
« on: Tuesday 20 October 09 21:42 BST (UK)  »
Hi Everyone
I have just read about the dangers of putting your family history tree online.
I am a little worried because my tree (as big as it is!) is online.
I have gone bak to check it and there are no living people on there or any addresses, what other dangers are there in putting a tree online?

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / 1901 Look up please
« on: Tuesday 20 October 09 21:19 BST (UK)  »
Albert Edward Whitaker is residing at 6 Rutland Terrece/Bunbury St, Nottingham on the 1911 census, but not to be found on the 1901 census.
He is reported to born 1875 but the BMD Index report 2 whitakers in the Nottingham area born 1873 and 1874.
Can anyone find any information from the 1901/1891 census?
How do I check on the correct Albert Edward when there are 2?
Any information on him or his family would be greatly received with many thanks.
Steve
