Europe / Medwed Family
« on: Tuesday 07 April 20 19:05 BST (UK)  »
I have just found out my grandmother might have come from a village called Yuzhynets Austria Bukowina.  Her name is Mary Medwed. ( Possibly Medvid)  She was born June 1895.  I can see the records on Family Search but I can't read them. Due to the fact, that they are not in English.
Is there anyone willing to take a peak to see if they can find her and if she had any siblings.  I do know she had one brother Wasyl.
Any help would be appreciatd.  Thanks

Europe / Yuzhne Odessa Oblast Ukraine
« on: Saturday 23 February 19 16:32 GMT (UK)  »
Im pulling this one out of my hat.  Im trying to find information on my grandmother who might or might not have married in either the old country or Fort William, Ontario.  Im looking, I guess the only thing Im asking here is has anybody ever heard of this town.  When I look at the naturalization papers of my grandfather, the only information for Gramma is that she was born in Yuzenee, Austria.  Im assuming it is Yuzhne although I could really be out to lunch on this one.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks

Europe / Yuzhne Odessa Oblast Ukraine

I realize this could be a needle in a haystack.  I just got the naturalization papers for my grandfather.  He came to Canada in 1911 port of entry was Quebec.  I got a bit of information.  But they didn't give me any information on my grandmother.  I know she came from Yuzhne Odessa Oblast Ukraine because if says so on the naturalization papers.  Im looking to find if she got married in Yuzhne or if she married in Fort William, Canada.  Due to the fact that there is 548 km difference between my grandparents, Im guessing it was Canada.  But if I could find a birth certificate with her parents names maybe that would help also.  Any help would be appreciated.  Her name is Mary Medwig and her birthdate is June 5, 1895.

Canada / Lloyd Wilmar Moore and Alice Deuchar
« on: Monday 21 August 17 21:19 BST (UK)  »
Ladies a few years ago, you found some amazing information for me.  I'm stumped.  I have found all family members but this family.  I know when Lloyd was born, I know when Lloyd and Alice got married, and I know when Alice died.  I also know they have three children.  Im looking for the children as we speak.  Ive got feelers out, in Kijji, and everything.  Anyhow.  I found information, Im not sure how to extract.
When I put in Lloyd Wilmar Moore and Alice Deuchar, Smith Falls.  I get this

"Their parents are Lloyd Wilmar Moore and Alice Deuchar. Lloyd and Alice were married at the ... Born in smiths falls birth parents were young 18 and parents "

However, I can't pull up anything more then what is on google.(just what I cut and pasted)  Am I missing something.
I know this isn't the three Im looking for, but it is interesting to know there is a fourth in the group.

Canada / Just a General Question
« on: Sunday 01 January 17 19:25 GMT (UK)  »
Im trying to wrap something around my head.  The family tree I am doing, the parents didn't register some of the children when they were born for birth certificates.  Would they not need birth certificates for marriages, work.  For example my motherinlaw, now deceased since 1970, born 1923.  No birth certificate.  One of her brothers I found got a "delayed birth certificate in 1969, he was born in 1908.  It tells me he was looking for a pension of sorts.  Anyhow, long story short, I was wondering this because we can't find a birth certificate for the motherinlaw, and would have liked one for the records.
