« on: Sunday 19 March 23 18:16 GMT (UK)  »
I am wondering if there is anyone who has an idea about the number of watermills compared to windmills in say the 18th Century. The north part of Wiltshire is currently of greater interest to me.
Thanks for any help. Toby.

Wiltshire / Canal House or Elm Villa, Swindon
« on: Tuesday 25 October 22 09:32 BST (UK)  »
I wonder if there are any canal experts on board for I recently read of a Canal House (formerly on the banks of the Wilts. & Berks. Canal in Swindon)which housed an abortive artesian well & steam pump.
This is breaking news for me. It just seems so unlikely! Has anyone anything to add to this matter? Thanks for any help. Toby.
