Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Parents name help please
« on: Saturday 18 July 20 20:20 BST (UK)  »
Hi all

Can anyone tell me what the parents names are for Paul Whelan and Bridget Goulding (AKA Golden). It's actually just the fathers I need. I was under the impression it's John but now not so sure.

Antrim / William James Wilson - bartender
« on: Saturday 18 July 20 18:27 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone

Years ago I ordered a marriage cert for William Wilson and Sarah Jane Whelan from somewhere (Emeraldancestors I think) and when the email came back to me they kindly said that in the parish register it actually gave both parents for the groom and the bride.
The grooms parents were William Wilson and Ann Rice and that the father was desceased and was a Publican by trade.
I could never find a marriage or any children (including William) for William and Ann. I know that this is not unusal and just assumed I would never get any further information on my direct line as is the curse for a lot of Irish folk.
Recently however I discovered that I also ordered another marriage cert from the same people for another Belfast direct line and the parents tey gave me (Once again in the parish register) was incorrect. The father was correct but they had mixed up the mother with the female witness (This marriage was located on Ancestry) so I was able to see this for myself.
The reason I mention all this is because recently I have found a birth for a William Wilson in the correct year (death cert gave me his age) with parents William James Wilson who was a Bartender  and Mary Jane Purvis. This marriage unfortunately is not on Ancestry. The information of the birth is on Ancestry and the bartender occupation is from another tree of a relative that I believe she ordered.
The father William james Wilson (prviding it is the correct man) was desceased by the time William (his son) was married in 1885. There are a few deaths for William Wilson that may well match the age of the father on but I am wondering if there is a way I can order a copy of the death cert/photocopy but put down that his occupation must be bartender/publican so I don't have to buy numerous certs?
In England if you order a cert you can put down things that must match and if they don't they will email you and you only have to pay something like 4 instead of 11 for their trouble.

Sorry for rambling on.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Help making out names
« on: Tuesday 07 July 20 18:54 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone

Many years ago when I ordered a marriage record for my 3xGrt Grandparents William Murphy and Margaret Fagan, I was told the paents for each were Patrick Murphy and Elizabeth McClure/McClune and Patrick Fagan and Ellen McGovern.
This information was straight from the paish register where both parents were written down.

I have just found the record on Ancestry and the brides mother seems to be different,

Can anyone help make out the name as best we can please?

Many thanks in advance

Other Countries / Charles Edwin Webb India help
« on: Tuesday 15 January 19 20:27 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone

I have a couple named Charles Edwin Webb and Alice May (unsure of maiden name) with several kids born in India.

All their kids were born in West Bengal/Jhansi area and Alice May died in 1934 and was buried on 12 Dec 1934 Jhansi, Bengal, India.

I cannot find a marriage for Charles and Alice but I have seen a picture of one of the kids and she has a very Indian look so I'm guessing one of the parents was of Indian descent.

I believe Charles worked for the Great Indian Peninsular Railway.

Can anybody help me locate details on Charles and Alice please?

I don't have a death for Charles either.

Many thanks

Dan Wilson

Glamorganshire / Leo Wilson death
« on: Friday 08 September 17 21:41 BST (UK)  »

I have a family member that moved from Belfast to be closer to his daughter in the 1980's and died somewhere in Wales (I assume Swansea as that's where his daughter lived) in 1991.

There is a record on Ancestry For a Leo Wilson that died in 1991 but I cannot view it as I am not a member.
I wonder if someone could possibly locate this death as I really would like to know where he passed away.

Many thanks in advance

United States of America / Rev Henry P M Le Guillou help
« on: Friday 01 September 17 20:22 BST (UK)  »
Hi all

Henry P M Le Guiilou was a priest in New Mexico in the late 19th century and early to mid 20th century.

Does anybody know who to contact to find out about his career as a priest?

I assume it's the Archdiocese of Santa Fe but I cannot seem to find the contact details.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mayo / Burdish/Geraghty marriage Islandeady
« on: Wednesday 29 March 17 16:30 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone

I am in need of help with my Mayo ancestors.

My 3rd Great Grandfather Peter Geraghty married my 3rd Great Grandmother Bridget Burdish on the 22 Jan 1854 in the village of Islandeady in Co Mayo.

I'm not sure of the church they married in as I found this marriage on a Irish website and for the life of me cannot find the details anywhere.
I know I have the right couple as the first two children they had were born in Mayo but the rest were born in Chester and it states the mothers maiden name.

They left Mayo to come to Chester between 1858 and 1861 as one child was born in Mayo and the other in Chester.

Now I am hoping that someone may be able to help me locate either the birth of either Peter or Bridget or perhaps the parents etc.

I don't know why but I know I have a record of the marriage somewhere but I cannot understand why I don't have at least the fathers names recorded.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
