Is anyone having difficulties with FindMyPast? I was doing some research and it suddenly kicked me out asking me to tick the box that I'm not a robot which I did and now I can't get in.

I can't even complain to them. Totally annoyed

The Common Room / Do you put media records on Ancestry?

I have been having a discussion

with a family member re the pros and cons of putting media (as in births, marriages, deaths etc) records on my Ancestry tree. They are utterly against it. My argument is that my tree is private and what is the harm. Apparently there were some changes in Ancestry's policy re media not long ago and this is the basis for their argument against putting media on my tree. Although my relative is honest in stating that they are basing their argument on something they saw somewhere on Facebook.

I was curious to know if any one else has this same issue re media on Ancestry. Thank you

The Common Room / Looking for a Patrick Bonner....

I thought I'd post my query on this board as I'm looking for info on a Patrick Bonner who went missing and could have gone anywhere

This is what I know.

He was married to an Elizabeth in Donegal, Ireland. Her surname may have been Bonner as well. I have never found a marriage for them

They had a child called John baptised 18 Dec 1862. Their townland address was Gortnacorrib. Gortnacorrib is north west of Letterkenny. Sponsors: Edward McIvor and Margaret McIvor.

Patrick took over the tenancy of my 2nd great grandfather John Bonner in Gortnacorrib about 1879. Patrick seems to have stayed in Gortnacorrib until 1883. The land/tenancy was taken over at that point by a Samuel Kelso.

Patrick disappears completely and I can't find any further info on him. I believe that he was a son of my 2nd great grandparents John Bonner and Sarah Anne O'Neill.

Does any of this sound familiar to any member?

I have spent a wee bit of time (hours) looking for an Anastasia Ryan born about 1870 in Scotland not realizing I had her record since 2018. Take a look.

Anastasia = Hannah-Stacey!!!

I guess the poor registrar had never run across that forename before and just winged it.

I've been trying to use the Derry City Cemetery Records Project for a couple of days and no luck. I can't seem to access it. I get to the page but the search button doesn't work. Is it just me
