I have walked past this grave in the Broadway Cemetery, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, England, twice a day for many years and I had every intention of sharing, I have finally gotten round to doing that, ironically with the anniversary of his death 105 years ago.
I wonder if any of Percy's family have visited or even have photos? What happened to his wife Annie, did they have any children?
I do hope the photo is seen by one of Percy's descendants.
Last November with it being 100 years of the British Legion, my friend and I placed poppies on all of the 63 war graves in the cemetery, Percy included.

The Common Room / Wills and probate
« on: Sunday 16 May 21 10:40 BST (UK)  »
I have been looking for wills on the government wills and probate Web page.
I have been unable to find the 2 people I am looking for. Does this mean there was no will?
I have checked from the years of death to the present day.

Andrea.

England / Children of Hector Rex McGregor Fairlie
« on: Saturday 26 December 20 17:16 GMT (UK)  »
I am having trouble finding children of Hector Rex McGregor Fairlie (deceased).
Hector was born in 1911 in India, he came to the UK in 1920 age 9.
In 1934 he married Margaret E Llewellyn. She died in 1957. One child was Michael John Macgregor Fairlie (deceased) born Jan 1943.
Hector had another partner called Nadia Caroline van Brock ( Deceased), I haven't found a marriage for them yet but she did call herself Mrs Fairlie.
Family members remember a daughter.

The year range is missing from GRO which obviously would have helped.
I have found Hector and Margaret in Wandsworth 1939, I have found him in the telephone directory in 1952 in Cheam.
He has lived in Putney, Cheam and Epsom.

Please could you help me find .

Technical Help / Outline Descendant Tree help please
« on: Saturday 28 November 20 19:30 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

I am wondering if there is any software that would help me transform my usual format family tree into an outline descendant tree (I think that is what they are called, see photo). I would like to do this so I can see all notes I have on a person and census details. Or am I going to have to do this manually?

Fingers crossed. x

Australia / John William Walter Smith Fairlie
« on: Tuesday 24 November 20 19:04 GMT (UK)  »
In the electoral rolls, I have found John William Walter Smith Fairlie living with Dorothy Winifred Fairlie at 1105 Whitehorse Road Victoria.
Family history shows John went to Australia but his wife was called Grace.

I am wondering what the relationship is. John dies in 1956 age 75 and Dorothy dies in 2003.

Any help would be appreciated.

Other Countries / Children born in India but where did mum and dad come from?
« on: Tuesday 24 November 20 18:38 GMT (UK)  »
I have the 2 sons of John William Walter Smith Fairlie and Grace Johanna (maiden name unknown).

Alexander Murdock McGreger Fairlie(1915–1973)
7 Jan 1915 • Hirushipur, Lahore, Punjab, India

Hector Rex McGreger Fairlie(1911–1976)
11 Dec 1911 India.

I have found them all travelling back to England on 22nd June 1920. I seem to be unable to locate John and Grace leaving the UK. I am unsure if India is where they married. Please could you help me locate a marriage for John and Grace and even better a birth place.

Northamptonshire / Help finding Harriet Daggett's grave
« on: Wednesday 14 October 20 14:29 BST (UK)  »
On 3x great Aunt's death certificate she died on 24th March 1923.
Her address is 17 Prospect Street, Wakefield Road, Bradford. But the address where she died is, 14 Water End Woodston Urban Peterborough.
She is the wife of Andrew Daggett,
The informant is G Daggett daughter also living at Prospect Street.

I am trying to find out if she is buried in Peterborough or if she was returned to Bradford.
I would also like to find who was living at Water End. My great grandad Harry Lakey (Harriet's nephew) had previously lived at Water End in 1901 but not at number 14. He had also moved to Whittlesey by 1911 census, where he stayed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Northamptonshire / Edward Rowlett widower on wedding certificate.
« on: Wednesday 07 October 20 12:00 BST (UK)  »
This is a follow on to my previous post but I am unable to find it. Wedding certificate ordered with previous help.

Researching Edward (born 1802 Fotheringhay, parents Thomas and Eleanor). On his wedding certificate 3rd march 1840 Parish of Maxey his spouse is Elizabeth Housden (father John). Edward is down as widower and Elizabeth is down as spinster.
I am interested in who Edward was previously married to before marrying Elizabeth Housden.

With Edward being 38 at the time of his 1840 wedding I am also wondering if there are any children from his previous marriage. On the 1841 census he only has a 10mth old child living with him, in the 1851 census the same child plus 3 others all under 10 are living with him.

  Any help would be appreciated

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Andrew Daggett marriage to Harriet Lakey
« on: Wednesday 19 February 20 14:02 GMT (UK)  »
UPDATED
I am looking for a marriage between Andrew Daggett and Harriet Lakey

In the 1891 1901 1911 census Andrew Daggett (born 1852 Lindley Yorkshire) is living with wife Harriet but I can't find a marriage for them. 1911 census states they had been married for 26 years.

Daughter Getrude was born M qtr 1885 Middlesborough, surname Daggett mother's maiden name Lakey.

So I am assuming it was sometime after the census in 1881 and Gertrude's birth in 1885.
Andrea.
