London and Middlesex / John WILLIAMS St.Lukes
« on: Friday 26 June 20 15:59 BST (UK)  »
Still hoping someone else may be following the line of John WILLIAMS b circa 1791/2 in the St.Lukes/St.Leonards area.   I believe John married Sarah HORNE in 1811 in St.Leonards as one of their sons was named William Horne Williams.  In 1829 they were living in Tenter Row, St.Leonards as shown on several of their childrens' baptism entries and John was shown as a Watch Finisher.
I'd love to know whether anyone has been able to go further back and to share info.

Thanks, Forest

Surrey Lookup Requests / Sarah EDMONDS 1874 death
« on: Wednesday 22 February 17 17:00 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find the death record of my ggrandmother Sarah EDMONDS/EDMUNDS who I believe died in childbirth in Feb/March 1874.   The birth certificate of the child she bore at that time gives an address of 115 South Street, Walworth in districts of St.Saviours, Surrey and St.Peter Walworth.   This child was subsequently reared by her mother's family in Birmingham and the father Thomas William Edmonds re-married in March 1875.   I have been unable to find any death record on Ancestry or on FreeBMD.   She is not the Sarah Ann Edmunds listed on FreeBMD in Woolwich (I have that death certificate)   If anyone can suggest where else I might search it would be much appreciated.  Thanks.

Warwickshire Lookup Requests / Sarah EDMONDS
« on: Saturday 19 April 14 17:01 BST (UK)  »
If anyone is going to Birmingham Archives (and has time) I would appreciate a look-up for the death of Sarah Edmonds (nee Litchfield)between 1874 and 1881.
Sarah was born in Birmingham in 1845 but had moved to London with husband Thomas Wm. Edmonds by 1871.   Her last child (Mary) was born in London in 1874 and that child appears with Sarah's Litchfield family in Windmill Hill, Birmingham in the 1881 census and is still in Birmingham with family members in 1891.   Sarah's husband and other two children are still in London.
It may well be that Sarah died in London but I have not been able to find her there or in Birmingham on any on-line resources.
A look-up would be much appreciated, if only to rule Birmingham out.
Many thanks.

Derbyshire Lookup Requests / Ashbourne look-up
« on: Sunday 27 March 11 14:57 BST (UK)  »
I would be very grateful if sks could check a couple of censuses for me.

In the 1851 Ashbourne census index there appear John and Sarah Wigley, both aged 53, and their son John aged 12.

In 1861 son John, aged 22, is shown living with mother Sarah - no mention of his father.

In 1871 son John, now 32, appears with wife Emma and several children.

In both cases I would love to know whether father and son are shoemakers, living in Market Place.

Many thanks

I have a John Wigley, born Australia, who appears on the UK 1881 census.

I would appreciate any suggestions as to how I might be able to find out when he arrived on these shores....even which forum I should be posting on!

I have a John WIGLEY in the 1881 Census, aged 58, a bootmaker, born Australia.    At that time he was a widower and a boarder in Duck Street, 'London Mddx'

I am trying to find when he arrived in the UK and would be very grateful if he could be found in any earlier census.

Many thanks

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / 1841 Look-Up please for John SHARP
« on: Saturday 27 February 10 17:11 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for John SHARP aged 28 born Malton, Yorkshire.
He is not at the family home in Malton in 1841.

He married in 1842 in Islington, where he was a Coachman.
His address is given as 4 Pleasant Place.

In 1851 he is a Bookseller in Finsbury.

I would very much appreciate it if SKS could track him down in 1841.   Thanks.

I am hoping to find the baptism of John WILLIAMS in either St.Lukes, Islington or St.Leonard, Hackney.

Censuses in 1841, 1851 and 1861 give his age as 50, 61 and 70, so I assume he was born 1790/2.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks
