Mentioned in a family will are several properties, one of which is the leasehold  dwelling-house called Cavendish House, and the Victoria Baths at Coatham, which had cottages, baths, gardens and premises adjoining.

Other properties were in Middlesbrough but the streets were named for those.
I know roughly where the Victoria Baths were in Coatham, and have a photo of them, but know nothing about Cavendish House, or whether it was also in Coatham, which seems likely.

Does anyone know where it was (or still is) ?

Thanks for looking,
Barbara

I'd be very grateful if someone could restore just the first faded one of these two photos of my husband's grandad Francis William SPENCE b.1885.  I have found a WWI medal card for a Francis W. SPENCE, Battery Quarter Master Searjeant, Royal Field Artillery 163B (TF), (no personal details of Francis given) and would like to know if the uniform in these photos confirm that it could be the same man.   Many thanks in advance,  Barbara

Here goes, wasn't sure whether to post or not, as the subject may be a bit off-putting to some, will remove it if anyone objects, but they're my ancestors (not the pig) - it's a bit of social history, and I'd love to see what you brilliant people can do with it
But please, no colour !  :)
Many thanks in advance,   Barbara  :)

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / PADDISON baptism Tetford area c1740 please
« on: Friday 06 March 09 01:05 GMT (UK)  »
I have the marriage from Tetford parish register for William CIVIL and Ann PADDISON 7th May 1764.   After marriage they lived in Stickney and all their children were baptised there

Can anyone please help me to get further back by finding the baptism for Ann PADDISON (guessing about 1740)  in or around Tetford area?

If anyone could also find her burial in Stickney I'd be very grateful, Willliam was buried there 1783

Many thanks for looking

For anyone looking up bmds on the Tees Valley website, here is a list showing which Churches are covered by which reference number in the indexes, for Middlesbrough area, kindly sent to me by Middlesbrough register office.  The ref nos will show up as for example M-M-98- 0- 25 and it's the 98 which represents the church on the list below. Prefix M-J refers to Middlesbrough Register office or any church which the registrar has had to go out to, (in early years this meant non-C. of E. Churches), so any missing numbers may come into this category. When the area was split between Middlesbrough, Redcar & Stockton, those districts kept their ref nos., which explains the gaps. So it's as complete a list as I can get,  hope it helps - any queries please email Mbro Reg Office: -   register [at] middlesbrough.gov.uk        Barbara  :)

Would you lovely restorers be able to give a bit of colour to this photo of my Grandparents, perhaps with a golden touch, as it was taken on their Golden Wedding Day in 1952 please?
May need a couple of scratches removed first if possible
Thank you very much,  Barbara    :)

Just heard from findmypast that Oxfordshire, Middlesex, Buckinghamshire, Huntingdonshire, and Northamptonshire have been added to the findmypast.com 1901 census.

So they now have those plus London, Kent, Berkshire, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Somersetshire, Surrey, Sussex and Hertfordshire
